Top 3
Cove - Premiers in 2009 and not alot of talk of players leaving or new players. Will be the bench mark in 2009 and for quite some time to come
Townies - Come from a strong div 2 in the SAAFL and with a few recruits will be right there
M Vale - Might just fall away a little but still easily one of the top 3 chances. Still a very classy side on its day, capable of taking it out again in 2009
Next 4 ( no order)
Porties - recruited strongly again with a few kids that could finally learn to break open games of there own back. The closest team to the top 3. Have the best coach in the SFL.
Brighton - Could find a new coach a bit of a blessing. Might be just what they need to push further in the finals. Will win a few against the top 3 sides but will be in consistent
Reynella - Lost some big names and will find it hard to replace. Milo will shoulder a lot of the burden to kick winning scores, may be another year older and a bit harder to find the footy with the lack of class out of the midfield. Miles ahead still of the bottom teams but may strugle against the top sides
Happy Valley - The quiet achievers. Never seem to talk up there chances but always deliver during the season. will be another successful year in terms of wins but will need to recruit a few extras towards the start of the season to push the big 3
Daylight (no disrespect here and no order)
Flaggies - May be the best of the rest. Are capable of being very good or very bad. will win around 7-10 games
Shoes - Will be around the mark again. Draw is a little better for them this year. Very good midfield and a few blokes that can kick goals for them, just need their defence to stand up.
M. park - The most inconsistent side in the SFL. Beat reynella in 2008 then a few weeks later got rolled by christies. Because of this will be in the battle for 8 but will miss out.
Saints - A lot of work going on behind the scenes. They have some young kids that can play footy just need a few of the older heads to keep there cool and they will be right around the 8th mark. Im sure a fit andrew bachmann will make a difference to the side and cutting away of some dead wood will only make christies a better place to be. There place in the top 8 will depend is scotty brown plays for christies and not west adelaide. Have a very astute president and a coach that knows how to get the best out of his players.
Bottom 4 ( Again no disrespect intended)
Aldinga - Have lost maybe the best center half back in 2008 and most of there starting midfield from 2008. I think they may win 5 games for the year but still think they are a little off the mark to make a run at the top 8 just yet
Marion - Will struggle again this year and will only win around 5 games for the year. Might have made the mistake of employing a playing coach with a team that struggles. Think you need a coach who can have 100% focus on everything thats going on around him and not having to worry about playing aswell.
Lonsdale - Will struggle and may fall away a little more again. Would like to see them recruit a few players but would need to recruit 3 key forwards and 3 key backs to make the push to the top of the bottom teams.
Hackham - Will win 1 game in 2009 and will be better. Will make small steps but just need to remember it will take 5-7 years to be competetive again not 2-3. It will come with the next generation of players.

95% of last year's squad is staying and with a few handy pick ups, they will be around the mark again.
