As much as it would be great to see and play underlight on a saturday night, the home clubs are the only one who would benifit, bigger crowd and more money taken at the gate over the bar and bbq. It cost the away team plenty as they would loose there saturday night back at there club, even if the game finished at 8.30pm by the time people got back to there club it would be to late to make any money behind the bar or on meals. Don't want to sound like a stick in the mud but as an away club we would want some sort of compensation for that loss.

i know its a different league but these problems can be dealt with ie we play strath under lights each year at altertnate home grounds this year is our turn and we play willunga at home every year underlights and the return game at willunga is on a sunday, therefore giving both clubs a chance to maximise there takings

Unfortunately in the SFL with 15 teams now we do not get the opportunity to have return games in the one season. And the way the draw has gone for the last few years some teams do not even play the return game the following year. I know of some games between clubs have been at the same venue for the last 4-5 years straight.
I tend to agree with Wheels that if you are small club that does not trade everyday to make a quid you need to maximise your turnover in the hours you are open - if you only have 6-7 hours of a Saturday night (based on an away game with players/supporters returning to the club approx 6pm and trading to midnight) in which to make your money, no games on a Sunday and it soon closes the window of opportunity. Throw in 2-3 away games in a row and things can get pretty tight finacially for a club.

you could be onto something there...the only top team we didnt play at Hackham was Brighton...and that was the 60 goal smashing...but to be fair to myself and the rest of the boys that was the week our d!ckhead "coach" packed up and left on the Thursday night....but i dont understand why we would play a team only once two years straight, being Morphettville Park, and play both times at their home ground...going from the result of the 2008 game, we'd be half a chance if we weren't playing on a medium strip...

funny yes, but would have a shot at beating the twisties, unlikely.
The league is quite fortunate the council spent all that money fixing up hackham oval five or so year ago.

that is it the official draw!
the only changes are when clubs put in their proposals for venue and time ie night games.
the proposals will be done tonight at the SFL meeting.
