What are guys opinions on it?

Grae is a legend. The boot is very good considering that he does it all himself. There was a good write up about him in the local paper the other week.

The Southern Boot is an amateurish embarrassment. I admire Grae for having a go but the Boot should really get 'the boot'...or at least be produced to a standard higher than a 1970's school student newsletter.

For what the Boot is trying to achieve it is spot on. Amateurish is over the top, Grae works his arse off to produce this every week, i'd hate to think how many years he's been doing it for. It's got all the teams for the round with a few sponsor's ads, stats and even a quiz all for a few bucks. Can't go wrong, a brilliant job by one man.

Can you name any ex AFL players playing there...?? The last few years the Southern Districts team has played in a lightning carnival of which they won 2 years ago when Jason Gaskin was the captain and Matt Joraslafski won the player of the competition, i'm pretty sure the western border league played in this, not sure if they made the GF or not..??

You guys are joking arent you?

The league side would win by 40 goals and the reserves by 10. Easy. The Skills are 5 times better and the fitness twice as good. Surely you guys dont think you'd beat a league or reserves side??

I think 40 goals and 10 goals is being lenient.......A1 would beat the SFL by 10+ goals....

It woudl be interesting to see how Mvale would fair in A1's. I'd say they would be middle of roan at best...

I know Morphies have beaten broadview the last couple of years in trials. Their usually around the mark in A1. Emus lost to Goody Saints by about 6 goals in a trial this year and were missing short and gaskin. Im sure goodies had some out as well. Cant read too much into trials i know but i dont think morphies would be embarrased in A1.

A league side would kill an SFL Association team. Be competetive for maybe a 1/4 but they would run all over the top of them.

I agree with the league side comment. there would be no contest. But totally disagree with a reserves side dominating an sfl association side. Played both SFL association and 2-3 years of reserves footy and theres not that much difference. Reserves footy isnt that good lets be honest. theres blokes playing reserves that would struggle to get a game in the SFL association team. So if the SFL took on South ressies I reckon it would be a close affair.
the only thing in the Ressies favour would be they play together week in week out. Association sides are usually coached by guys that have seen the team train 5-6 times, and have to come up with a game plan /structure in 2 weeks. that would be the only downfall. IMO

If that has happened that is an absolute disgrace.. Very believable though, i will be interested to hear anyone's feedback. Let's be honest in all reality they should not be in the competition..

Not sure i totally agree....I see each year a lot of guys you can't make the reserves side or even the U/19's but still manage to be very handy SFL A grade players.....Some of the better players in the league such as Milo and Gasko only really played reserves footy and i don't think the standard has dropped of by that much over the last 5 years....

Thats kinda what I was saying Franky. The blokes that got dropped from reserves /u19 etc are handy SFL footballers no doubt but some dont make the Assoication side. Your kinda making my point for me. With Milo and Gaskin they both played mostly ressies but some league games. which means they must have been pretty good in the ressies, the same way they are good in the SFL. Was just saying that it would be a good game of footy. certainly not a 10 goal thrashing.

yeah i have played a bit of cricket myself with brad and craig at scibs .we drew 4 the flag a few years back and brad would say every week after opening the batting if i could only bat ten overs i would be averaging 100 !! brad is a true classic and i dont think he has totally hung up the boots yet meximan .he has been on the track and one of his best mates is the b grade coach plus brad has yet to win a senior premiership yet ..so eith all those eggs in the basket he is a fair chance to pull on the green and gold again i would think :D :D

league footy would flog an association side by more than what everyone was beating hackham by last year. its a totally different kettle of fish, not even worth talking bout.
even suggesting that SFL or any country footy would compete with league football is so far off you need to look at yourself.
because it seems hard when your playing does not mean its as hard as the levels above, its got to do with the players your playing with, yourself as a player, and the players your playing against.
speak to guys that have played league footy and they will vouch for it, vick, walton etc could tell you how much better it is, ordinary idea to even compare league with association!!!

Have heard the Hackham player got 10 weeks, rumour also has it that the B Grade coach from Hackham rang and apoligized and that the player involved has been told not to come back to Hackham.
I'll be at Hackam on the weekend i will see if i can find out anymore.
