Matthew Dents coaching record at Tailem Bend was not that good so I would be very surprised if he got the Valley job.

He got the Valley job - it's confirmed
Some players not too happy though

I think M/Ville missed a great opportunity to appoint Porter who would have been a terrific coach for the Roo's. In any event it leaves the door open for a club like Hackham or OSB/Lons to bring in a coach recently coached at SAFC and maybe could lure some of his ex U/19s players out to Doctors Road or Lonsdale?

I hear it was Steve Wallace - former U18s coach - lots of these boys were coached by him and wanted him back & not happy he wasnt appointed.

He would have been tough as and they would have been as fit as buggery

There'll be a couple of clubs particularly around the Woodcroft area who'll be mighty glad to hear that. If the Bombers ever got there hands on Pottsy, Game Over

Is that what you think the Bombers lacked this year to make that last step?
Is it a coach they need for the final step?

They had one last year. Schneebichler was good, but as I've often said before, Potts is a genius.
Give him a side like Brighton and its Game Over

Sometimes the obvious choice is not always the best choice. New coach Aaron was introduced to the masses on Saturday night at our Presentation Dinner, gave everyone the chance to meet him and have a chat. Plenty of excitement already within the Roos for next year. From what I know we had quite a number of candidates, long interview process to get to Aaron and the selection committee are happy with their descision.

Is Aaron Hockey going to be a playing coach? Last i heard his body was constantly failing him. Handy half forward when fit tho.. Any word on if he is bringing any players with him? Is his older brother Cameron (currently at McLaren in the GSFL) going to play under him at the Twisties? Seems an odd choice for coach to me given his age, but he is a top bloke.

Not sure about the playing side of things. Looks fit enough to be able to. And his brother is most welcome to come and join us at the Roos. If he's similar size to Aaron we'd definitely have him.

With his age yeah he's young compared to other coaches going around but we have a young squad and I guess this was taken into consideration when appointing him.

Our AGM is this Sunday at 2pm at the club so I guess we'll find out what his intentions are then. I know he has been indicating this is his last year after doing the job for 5 years and wants to spend more time with his family.

I hope for the club's sake he doesn't hang them up. He and a couple of others on the committee dug us out of a pretty deep hole and with Aaron etc coming on it would be a shame for him to miss out on some of the possible rewards.

Works his arse off around the place which goes unnoticed a lot of the time. Has copped a fair bit of sh_t this year from a couple of idiots at the club.

I think the final straw came on AFL GF day take 1 when there was a massive crowd, and he was doing the work of about 3 people including the missing bar manager. He just had enough and I guess cracked under the strain. Did the right thing and left before causing any scene.
