In any event it leaves the door open for a club like Hackham or OSB/Lons to bring in a coach recently coached at SAFC and maybe could lure some of his ex U/19s players out to Doctors Road or Lonsdale?
Would have to agree thought Ben was a shoe in for m/park job, thats twice he has applied at the club he played for and the big thumbs down both times.
Sometimes the obvious choice is not always the best choice. New coach Aaron was introduced to the masses on Saturday night at our Presentation Dinner, gave everyone the chance to meet him and have a chat. Plenty of excitement already within the Roos for next year. From what I know we had quite a number of candidates, long interview process to get to Aaron and the selection committee are happy with their descision.
Whats the story with the outgoing president?
Our AGM is this Sunday at 2pm at the club so I guess we'll find out what his intentions are then. I know he has been indicating this is his last year after doing the job for 5 years and wants to spend more time with his family.
I hope for the club's sake he doesn't hang them up. He and a couple of others on the committee dug us out of a pretty deep hole and with Aaron etc coming on it would be a shame for him to miss out on some of the possible rewards.
Works his arse off around the place which goes unnoticed a lot of the time. Has copped a fair bit of sh_t this year from a couple of idiots at the club.
I think the final straw came on AFL GF day take 1 when there was a massive crowd, and he was doing the work of about 3 people including the missing bar manager. He just had enough and I guess cracked under the strain. Did the right thing and left before causing any scene.
