they beat macclesfield and beat morphy pk pretty easy. they will have just about a new team on the park this year. their new coach (shane lynch) has done some very good recruiting. well over 15 new players in the a grade. not saying they will make the 8, but they will be a lot better than last year.

ok heres my guess then.

Morphett Vale
Reynella
Brighton
Noarlunga
Cove
Port Noarlunga
Happy Valley
Flagstaff Hill

Chrisites beach
Marion
Sullies lonnsdale
Morphie Park
Aldinga
Southern Hawks

Hard to guess, but also less teams now is there still a need for a top eight?

Probably the easiest way to go.

I reckon this looks pretty close, possibly swap the top two around, Cove a bit higher and the middle six being very close, with however misses out in 9th spot being very close to 8th and a few points clear of tenth. Possibly Aldinga to move above Morphy parks who look to have a bad year.

Here's my 'guesstimate'....I'm also a subscriber to Aldinga making a better showing this season and I think Cove will be around the mark once more but they are still 3 or 4 players short. I've gone for the Wineflies to go top purely because Shane Russell has joined them,Brighton to play off in the big one (and learn from it) and back-to-back is difficult enough let alone a 3-pete for MorphettVale (who will still be in it no doubt). My 'smokey' is Flaggies who will most likely play kids but will be very well coached - unlikely to go much better than they did last year but will do so with an eye on the future. I expect the Twisties to be the new Aldinga
Tiger to Viking to Bulldog to drinking cans and smoking darts in the outer again. That's footy.....

reeves clearance refused twice by christies under the junior rule .......kids heart isnt at christies and only wanted to play with his mates..... thomson still at mclaren where he played last season ..... williams may be returning from interstate soon also ... good to see trevor rigney start off with a bang in rmfl and this guy is a class act ..lure of huge money for the kid (only 22)was too strong and we wish him all the best .... we may have a sibling that is not too shabby either  .... i think the young lions will put up a good show even without him and not looking as bad as doomsdayers are predicting ...still lots of improvement in our young blokes :D

good to hear aldinga have picked up a few and with their huge growth area they may blossom in years to come .... hats off to them for hanging in there ..... the league is not just about the top 4 unlike some clubs seem to think and it is interesting to hear the arrogant views of some.

THE RUMOURS I HAVE HEARD.... some of which are probably crap
porties have recruited well and have bergman at the helm .... flaggies will obviously improve under cox's guidance but not sure if they have recruited?..... marion to be coached by john fidge but not sure on recruits?? cove & brighton seem quiet and havent heard much there .... noarlunga blowing the salary cap to pieces and recruit well under bache but depth may be a problem?? Valley lose a few but lots of depth so they will still be a contender... morphies still the team to beat and possibly picked up a gun from willunga??reynella hot on their heals and have recruited very well ..... hawks still to struggle ...... morphy park may of lost a few by the sounds of it ....christies pick up bachmann and possibly chris groom (exsouth, crow and docker) .... my prediction is that reynella and morphies will battle it out and reynella may reverse last years decider!!
anyone know the latest on jaques as the guy can play and remember him at aldinga in his early days??

Jacques signed at noarlunga but playing at south.

Hudson from Noarlunga did a bad ankle in trial the other week, expected to miss well over half a season.

Postby GET A KICK » Tue Apr 18, 2006 12:32 pm

Hello all. good to see that the local footy league has a forum to talk and ask questions! All the rumours are fun and games and part of the game. But we will finally get a glimpse as to what the season has in store for us this weekend!
Lion heart. i know young Neil reeves and feel very sorry for the kid. I personally think a kid with that much talent and so young should be at a league club. He had many offers for good money from different teams but with all the pressure that the saints put on him ( i hear one day he didnt answer his phone and had 35 missed calls.) he gave in. He did the pre season with the lions and was then told he had to play for the saints or miss the whole season as he was not going to get cleared. This will backfire in the long run as it already has done with the saints, as the same decision a few years back still has left a sour taste.
Observer, from reading what you have said, it seems to me that you have a position with porties and from what i can gather a very important one........ If the talk that your boys have been talking works, you will win the premiership by 20 goals!
I think that once again it will be a Morphett vale and Reynella Grand Final, but there are a few teams who are on the way up in the next couple of years who will also challenge. :D
Good luck to all!

Noarlunga have a few injuries, but you would hope they get over the line.

Bachman has done a medium knee, having operation and will miss half season possibly more.

What is all this talk of porties of late, they going to be good are they? Sounds like they are the ones spending some big coin maybe?
