WHEELS AND DEALS

Sunday footy was created to give kids who could not fit into a Saturday side a game of footy. It was meant to be a comp. where they could develop at their level. Looking at the Sunday comp. now it may just end up Morphettville and Brighton when the southern clubs pull the pin.

I think you guys are rorting the system in both Saturday and Sunday football.

The Sunday Under 16s results werent loading yesterday when I looked at it but now that I have checked the SFL website I see why W & D so protective of Sunday comps - MVP defeated Brighton by 102 points and yet have no Saturday team.

Shoot me down in flames but I dont reckon these kids are really getting the opportunity to be developed properly - why not put them up against other clubs best competition? I can hear the arguments that they play school footy on Saturdays ... yeah yeah yeah - well what happens next year when some of these kids have to play Under 18s?

Looks like sunday footy has changed then. I'm pretty sure all junior football is about developing kids be it saturday or sunday. You complain when we don't have juniors then you complain when we do. The other option is to take our kids and play them in the metro sth league but I'm sure the SFL wouldn't happy about that. Would love to see how our 14's and 16's go in the Saturday comp because I think they would be more than competitive. Remember Juniors are about teaching kids not winning flags, if you win one along the way well thats a bonus.

You bring up the topic......Do you have a proper realistic answer for the scenario? Not the arrogant replies I see from other posters telling them to p*** off to another league with their current set up...... People should be carefull what they wish for because when the Northern SFL sides go to the SAAFL the SFL big wigs will have minimum 3-4 less competative games a year.........
Can you bring a man to his feet when defeat is on repeat?

So on Saturday Brighton has Saturday 14s and 16s playing semi in morning and Sunday 14s and 16s playing GF in the arvo
Is it true they can't play same kids in both games?

Yes it is Mr Footy. Provided a lad has played 6 games in either side and is not nominated as a top 10 player from the Saturday team then it is OK. A big commitment for the lads doing it but they just want to play footy and can't get enough of it.

I suggest you just stay focussed on what your club is up to this weekend than worrying about Brighton. Happy Valley put on a good night for the Sunday comps and I just hope the weather stays kind this year for all concerned. In fact I believe Happy Valley has sourced the electronic scoreboard used by Brighton in our nights games this season.

I meant, yes they can play both Mr Footy. You have alot to say about junior footy and most of it is ill-informed or clearly wrong. No Happy Valley teams in action tomorrow night so hopefully no ambulances and no "nasty" comments to trainers and water stewards.

From the questions you have asked out of those three it would be Morphett Vale.

The best in the vicinity of the area you are looking at would be Noarlunga. :D

Noarlunga Shoes are near the Victor turnoff and Port Noarlunga near the playground.

Are you asking what teams make the Under 10 finals or senior teams?

Old Noarlunga Football Club is Noarlunga Football Club....it it the same.

No U/10s don't play finals as such and there is no Seaford Football Club.

Noarlunga is in Old Noarlunga.

From my experience as an opposition coach Morphettvale and Noarlunga seem to have the best junior set ups out of those down there. Id avoid Christies.

No scores or premiership points are kept under under 14's, there was a annual carnival but that got canned last year no idea if it will resurface in 2013.

What makes you say Christies should be avoided? How much do you know personally about Christies junior set up? A completely unjustified statement.

There has been a lot of work into CBFC junior set up over the past 3 years and we have come a long way.
Numbers are up. The sub junior section is very strong now and are providing a very enjoyable family orientated atmosphere.

As a parent of a lad who umpired mini's this season, all clubs mentioned ( Christies, Morphett Vale, Noarlunga, Port Noarlunga, Hackham ) have pretty good Sub Junior Programs. My advice is to visit theses clubs, or call the secretaries of each club for information regarding their program. Look at what each club has to offer in regards to certain programs as well as club culture. Ask around as everybody on here (Including myself) has their own ideas as to which club is best.

That was dealt with by the league and wasnt the only "incident" in the sub juniors last season.
One person doesnt make a club. There are a lot of good people doing a lot of good things at Christies Beach. I will vouch for the person you mentioned as he has done a lot of fantastic things for the CBFC as well.
Im sure we could name several incidents at serveral clubs including yours. No one is on here discouraging people from joining Flagstaff Hill.

On a positive not Marbles we would be more than happy to show you around the club and have a chat about what Christies Beach is striving for.
