Sweeny still playing but getting over osteitis pubis..... will play round 1 but still chaffing ........ Paddlepop retired i think but still may make some cameo appearances .... gotta love his rushed behinds !! Only backman ive ever seen that tries to snap goals from any angle while playing in the back pocket..... any then celebrates a rushed behind !!

mole, i can confirm christies C grade beat Hackham A's by bout 8 goals. only had one b-grader playing, and that was Adam Broadbent, he actually played C grade last season, but has gone up to B's for the coming season.

S.F.L is a lot quicker league than Hills and it showed in the way the Lions toyed with Loby. Lions were 7-8th ranked S.F.L team vs 6th ranked Hilss team and these teams were poles apart.

not saying that hills is better than southern, but loby are a very old side this year and have lost alot of players, loby will not be to good this year.
morphet vale were a very strong side and disposeed of bridgy by 18 goals in the a grade.
loby only had about 9 of their a grade playing,23 players through the a's & b's were unavailable for various reasons, only had one of the starting back 6 play, sullies played well but dont read to much into the loby performance

The Shoes should get Barrie Pilmore back from Willunga.

Doubt it Wedge as he was pictured in a recent messenger with Willunga lads around him as this seasons coach.

Speaking of the recent Messenger, did anyone manage to see pages 3 and 24 ? :D :D

Thats a good lead up for round 1 leave half your side out for last trial. I pity the poor 23 players who get dropped for the first game after travelling 45 minutes for a trial game. Must have massive numbers at Loby.

Sounds like they are looking for excuses. A bit strange for this early in the season.........

Christies Beach V Lonsdale this week sounds like it will be a good game - based on last year/pre-season form, you'd expect this to be a close one?

Hasn't Lonsdale got porties at porties round 1 and christies at lonnie round 2? Either way i'm backing in Lonnie's to win both.

The Lions did look the goods on the weekend against Lobethal. If they can carry that form in to the season I doubt Porties or Christies will have a chance

not making excuses at all, lonsdale played very well and deserve the credit for the win, most players missing from the 'a' grade carrying minor injuries and werent going to be risked to be ready for round 1,gave the coach a chance to have a look at some of the new guys to the club and a chance to give some regular b graders some experience at that level, after all it is a trial
