I think the thing is not to bag the teams that are struggling because they will improve as time goes on. Morpettvale were going to close the doors on the club in 1998 - 1999 and look at them now. Happy Valley in the early 90's were getting flogged week in week out by 15-20 goals a game. Then the high school started to fill up and they had heaps of juniors come to the club as is the case today. I am sure Aldinga is putting in a high school very soon. This is just my thoughts.

Happy Valley V Reynella

Postby Cheech » Mon Mar 05, 2007 9:21 am

Reynella had all the play early - should have had a big lead early but couldnt kick straight.
Everytime Happy Valley went forward they scored a goal.

If the game was played over a full 4 quarters... Reynella would have won!

Reynella have lost a lot of players this year and don't have a big name forward so they will struggle to kick big scores this year, they still will be around the mark and should finish in the top 4.
Reynella did look the better side Friday night and had a heap of it early but as Cheech said they couldn't kick, they looked the fitter team and ran the ball well.

Heres what i have heard:

Bradshaw leaving after not winning 20/20 ( argument with new coach) Linked to Strathalbyn.
Milo season ending knee injury.
Rocket to Jervois

Top 4 just.!!!!!

I agree, Reynella will drop off a bit this year... I don't think Cove or Happy Valley look as good as they have been either?
You'd expect Brighton and Flagstaff Hill to challenge a top 4 spot this year!

Who is Bradshaw from Reynella? First name - position etc?

I've heard the Greg Anderson is coaching Cove this year the boys seem to love him, they have only lost there F/Forward from last year due to retiring although they have gained several players from Gaza who have come down with Anderson. Apparently all A'graders and all can play the game at SAAFL Div 1 very well. Still waiting on names but with the walk out that Gaza are currently having I wouldnt be suprised if there were atleast four quality players gone to Cove Cobras from Gaza.

Reynalla has some good young talent coming through this year and will be in the top 4.

I have a rumour for all you mungers, The Meekins clan are quitting christies beach and moving to Darwin so they can sweat of some of those pies.

In regards to Young Talent - I think you'll find that Cove, Flagstaff and Brighton would be winning in that area... Can't see Reynella Young'ns stepping up straight away? 99% of FHFC A-Grade are under 20 years old - And they finished 7th last year!! And Cove already stong in their As + the u/18s coming up... it's scary how good they could be? I have to admit Cove didn't look flash in the 20/20 though (No Padroth?), Plus Anderson didn't really impress me, bit of a Soft talker? Guess we'll see.... Brighton are consistently good - with consistently good juniors.

Word has it Cove deliberately played B's and U/18s with a handful of A graders in the pre-season comp, therefor Ando took it easy.
Ando can be a soft talker, the bloke used to cut his fringe in the basin before running out to every game he played. Dirty bastard would leave hair everywhere!
