Any names of the Blackwood guys Shoey or anyone for that matter? Blackwood just can't ever get it right. What about clearances, will they all get them? Surely not!

Filsell- runner up central A grade best and fairest
D.Delawyer- country A grade best and fairest from only 6 games played the rest of the season in the ones past u17 mail medalist 20 yo
C.Delawyer- u17 best and fairest and mail medalist only young but can play and is a big lad only 18
Gifford- has played Agrade footy and is getting real fit keen as
Cheek- played some country A grade last year great skills only 19
Needham- kicked some early goals in A country only 19
Trezise- played A country for most of last year 20 yo
Gunn x3- played in 2nds 3rds and 4ths all hard nuts
Chant- central B grade captin for years

as you can see half of the blokes are under 20 so they have years of footy still ahead of them they have settled well into the club and are all busting their nuts on the track looking forward to a good year and enjoying themselves unlike the previous year at blackwood. They are all good lads and will be assests at the shoe this season. All of them have been cleared bar 2 who have only just put in their paper work.

Christies have had a hard pre - season and hopes are high for a much improved year, the inclusion of some of last years under 18 side should add some much needed speed around the ball and hopefully the signature of some high profile players that we are currently talking too will sign up soon. Forward M. Wise is the only concern who is considering retirement at this stage.

LIONS

the Lions have been training since November! Not looking too bad, couple new players with one or two departures, although nothing major. Should see some on and off field improvement as the senior coach likes running them into the ground which is what pre seasons for and the addition of a new sponsor should help out the club a fair bit.

New sponsor? Tell me more?
I do know the knew coach, he does know his footy however a long pre-season can make for an even longer 2007.
Jeremy Rigney is joining Jervois to be with bro Jezza

Do you have any goss on Jason Marx, he is heading to the GSFL apparently? Worthy footballer? He comes from a good breed - his dad was a champ.

Seems to be an awful lot of Gotta Getta Group hats being worn at Lonsdale practices.

That'd be Jezza going to Jervois to join brother Trevor :-)

Started pre-season in November, but took a break from christmas until late January.

Yeah the new sponsor is the GottaGettaGroup who do gutters and stuff. I know most of the core group of guys out there and from what i hear they're loving it, getting a decent turnout too which always helps the morale.

Yeah J rigs has gone to jerkois to join Trev but from the clubs point of view not a huge loss. Jason Marks is a top bloke but can never really settle down and just play footy, he went out to a few trainings at lonnie but then disappeared as a lot of talented Aboriginal footballers do. i'd think the inclusion of Damian Rigney will cover the loss of Jez as D Rigs is a better footballer.

Fair call Junior, on two parts.
We do have a lot of problems with the consistency of Aboriginal footballers in the main part.
D Rig is a great inclusion but from all reports wont be seen on field much before June/July, if the boys are in good stead he will be an asset in finals.

Yeah hopefully June but we'll see what happens, he's assistant coach too so just his knowledge should hold the lions in good stead you'd think.

I heard that Doug was Donald Dickies assistant coach when he was at Flagstaff Hill, and that Donald has had a bit to do with sitting up drills and programs, and pops out to a few trainings. If this is right it could only be a good thing.....

Probably a bad thing! From all indications ive heard Dickies coaching is about as good as that haircut he sported in the Ansett Cup GF a few years back...
