Morphy Park

Postby Ruck Legend » Wed Feb 14, 2007 5:51 pm

Well Peteo thanks for asking about me.

I hung up the boots half way last year after breaking my nose that badly that I needed it to be operated on. I decided then that I need to concentrate on my work which pays the bills so I gave the game away.

I do not know how Morphy Park will go this year but I hope they improve from last year. They will probably battle again but the club will give it's all. Who knows what will happen one day - hey Cove where bottom a few years back.

Well enough on the Sharks. Backliner was right there, I probably only know a handful of players at Aldinga these days but then I guess a handful is all they've ever had down? More importantly has anyone heard about how Morphettvale are travelling? Are they going to manage to keep the gap from reynella, cove, brighton and everyone else trying to knock them off? What about Porties and the shoes? What is OSB-Lonsdale up to? Have they worked on their juniors? Marion/Morphy parks? I'm assuming that they are headed south? Hackham.... less improved than what backliner has said about the sharks.... I spoke to their coach a few weeks back.... they're not even offering to pay anyone!!! If you're going to take a flogging... and potentially play every game in the A and B grade, I'm thinking most blokes would like more than a beer for their efforts?

Backliner... sorry not heading to Sharks territory...heard too many stories to put oneself through that kind of turmoil....besides I thought the sharks were a dead issue and i'd asked some more important questions? But I can't resist... has Roberts recovered from his 2006 injuries??? Who else is frequenting shark park?

Nobody seems to want to discuss other teams but if you insist.
Yeh Tom's fine, bit of physio now and again, hasn't played cricket this year. What about yourself, had your year off at Christies, are you going to be coaching their B grade again, player coach maybe?

You seem a bit bitter towards Aldinga? Any reason in particular? Thought you went to greener pastures?

You seem to want to waste bandwidth being negative towards other clubs and players, interested to hear these stories chief.

no reason for anyone to be bitter about aldinga. The club needs the players and coaches to stay for a few years and then things will turn. the top teams in the league im sure have gone through the same as aldinga is at moment, just give it time and it will come together.like they say rome wasnt built in a day.

Lonsdale started their junior rebuild last year with the 3 sub-junior grades. This year they'll add 14s and maybe 16s.

Seniors lost a few, but have Kane McIntyre and possibly Luke McIntyre returning. Liam Harris has apparently brought out a mate who he rates as a better player than himself, nice pickup if it's right.

Has anyone heard anything about the Southern Hawkes. Their captain has walked out and gone to Victor Harbour. Do you think they will have a team this year?

You wouldn't want coach04 in your side Backliner, unfit, overweight lump who thinks he can play the game. I hope he's not returning to Bice. :axe:

Backliner - one would have thought you would have a better understanding than most of what has occurred at your club. Aldinga has a lot to learn in footy management and respect for personnel and like I said previously that a positive is reappointing a coach for the first time in 3 or 4 years. I know you know the real story - so why post it here? I think 'jobs for the boys' would pretty much draw the correct analogy there?

As for saints 2007 - with the risk of sounding negative, are they going to even beat Aldinga this year? They've lost a few - I hear the older 'veterans' aren't as interested as they could be or have been in previous years. Both clubs will probably fill up the 'also ran positions' despite their recruiting attempts.

Saints 2007 -If you intend to throw mud - just remember, you're only at Christies or claim to be? .... ever played anywhere other than with underachievers? I doubt it with your narrow view on the world. Rest assured I'll only come to Bice, visiting, to take the points and run.

Would be nice to get some info on important things like how the teams in actually in 'competition' for the finals are going? Don't those at the top clubs use their pc's? Or just keeping things close to their chest? I guess those teams do the talking out on the paddock? :) Alas this is probably the conclusion i should've drawn before I started typing anything. Why type when you could be running? See you on the park...

Who was the Southern Hawks captain last year and who is the coach this year? Has anyone heard anything about them picking up anyone sounds like it is going to be hard for them recruiting if they are refusing to pay players.
