I wonder then whether Souths Under 17s and 19s coaches from this year David Tiller and fomer Kenilworth and Cove coach Ben Porter will b available to take on any of the vacant SFL jobs then?

Porter a better than good chance to be at Happy Valley next year.

to declarde my hand i obviously as my name suggests like the bombers (the brighton version) but have a look at whatever local game is home so i have watched the rams a fair bit and occasionally even morph park and cove.

good to see my mail from page 1 about Daniel Exelby and marion fc came to fruition. it looks as if exelby will play....not sure if this is the best idea though. He will need a fat cheque book as marion have not had any U18'f for the past 2 seasons, but i dont think marion have it. they might look rich but all their money is kept by the social club and the footy just gets little handouts.

I think he has got another ruckman to help out, maybe an ex glenelg, south, ironbank and edwardstown full forward (who has a little brother in the SFL already!!!) also heard from while having a beer and a bet toward the end of the season that stokes as pathetic as he was is off chasing cash- maybe seaton was the whisper with their reserves coach who left 1/2 way through season- work that out he cant even jog a lap, and more importantly for the rams tho i think west adelaide are fairly keen on bilney.

morphett vale - Played of in 4 GF in a row and could not see them sliding down to far. Should and will get only the best person applying
sulliues/lonsdale - A team that really struggled this year. No juniors and not much depth. Would this be career suicide or a great challenge for a guy like shane lynch who has done the same with aldinga (maybe not to the extreme of Aldinga)

You would think after all the talking around the christies job that somebody would be stitched up there but today they re advertised. Would this be because nobody wants the job???????????? and may just be holding out for one of the better jobs on offer in the SFL

As an outsider looking in i can totally understand this statement but from an insiders perspective it is far from the truth. Fact is we do not have great depth but our best 21 is still a top 8 team in the southern league as it stands. I can gaurantee any coach that is willing to put his balls on the line will find the Lions den is far from the basket case it appears. We lost no one from our 2007 squad (bar Baxter and Dean to South for most of the year which were huge losses) and gained Schultz who turned out to be a great pickup. This is a team that made the finals for 3 consecutive seasons before 2009.

We started the season off reasonably with a narrow loss to morphy park, a win against Marion and pushed Morphett Vale hard for 3 quarters before going down by about 5 goals. Our season fell away from there as injuries took there toll and our form and confidence went with it. We played over 80 players in the seniors which is a staggering amount considering it was a struggle to get a reserves team together for the second half of the season.

True we do not have many juniors coming through but the one thing we did get out of the 2008 season is we did unearth 2 brilliant 16 year olds in Adam Rigney and Samuel Kelly. That and the fact that 15 of our best 21 are 24 or under gives me reason to believe that with the right coach and some even luck with injuries we will be back playing finals footy in 2009.

Good luck LH, hope you turn it around in 09.
Where's Bill? Yeah... Hmm... Bill is on the Villa Quatro, on the road to Salina. I will draw you a map.

Just quietly I beleive the loss of Daniel Loveridge was a cruical one aswell. IMHO 1 of the most under-rated players in the league........
