Don't think we'll beat Barca mate, especially if there's any lingering effects of the recent much publicised infighting ... I think Liverpool are one of those teams you can NEVER write off, but I'd be happy if we came away from the Nou Camp with a scored draw.

Celtic 0 Milan 0
Lille 0 Man U 1
Madrid 3 Bayern 2
PSV 1 Arsenal 0

Cracking game between Madrid and Bayern. The Germans scored late on to make it 3-2 and now look favoured to go through. Milan should be too good for Celtic at the San Siro and obviously United will progress. Arsenal dominated but were hit with a sucker punch but I still fancy them to progress.

Don't write the mighty Redmen off Sarge. A score draw would be excellent and even an odd goal loss would still give the boys a huge chance back at Anfield in a few weeks time.

Big BIG win for our Red boys ... Tough return leg at home but at Anfield we're a chance against anyone ... Barca have the better midfield and strikers, but have looked very shaky at the back all year ... Walk on you Reds! :D

Not a supporter of either side but agree with constance.. Barca very shaky at the back, Valdez the keeper had a shocker, and I'd be amazed if Liverpool didnt score at home making it very hard for the Catalans to advance.
Mind you Deco could score 4 he's that much of a GUNN :prayer:
If liverpool had crouch instead of Kuyt they wouldve won 3 or 4-1- Kuyt is rubbish
Good game though- Watch Champions league show tonight 10-30.
David Villa scored a cracker in other games :!: :!:

Kuyt's first touch let's him down a bit at times, and he missed at least one golden opportunity to score today, but I think Barca would have exposed our lack of speed had we played Crouch.

Kuyt's workrate is exceptional and I don't think it's all about finding the back of the net for him, I've certainly been more than happy with his first season at the club.

Deco is a brilliant player, but he's a tosser .. Hard to find a bigger diver/bitcher/moaner .. Still, I'd gladly have him at Liverpool!

Bit of irony in the Bellamy give to Riise for the winner :D

Not a supporter of barca or pool either but an entertaining game this morning. I don;t think it was Valdez' fault. Barca's defence had more holes than any swiss cheese I've ever seen. Piss poor performance by their backs.

I thought Kuyt was OK.

Still with Barca, anything can happen, but I'd probably rather see Liverpool go through.

It was "destiny" that Bellamy and Riise would both score. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story ... 25&cc=3436

Did anybody see Bellamy's celebration? An air golf swing!

Yeah im probably being a bit harsh on kuyt, and the score is on the board so Rafa was justified....
Valdez is the key defensive player (as goalie) ... Bellamy's header had some pace but Valdez made it look like it was about to enter warp speed- take it in the hands son.
The pass back pick up was a classic for such a big occassion and was lucky to get away with it. Is he spanish Valdez and playing 2nd fiddle to Reina for his country??

Yeah Deco is a poonce but i love the guy, he is class

Excellent performance from LFC, save for a twenty minute period in the first half where they didn't see the ball.

Momo was supreme and really worked his socks off, Gerrard floated in and out but again provided a beaut pass which led to the winner, Kuyt, despite what some uninitiated folk may say, is worth his weight in gold and Finnan had Ronaldinho in his pocket.

Possession count was 65% - 35% but that was always going to happen at their place, it will be a different story back at Anfield.

Whilst on the topic of Anfield, Sarge, didn't your Mam teach you the saying "I before E except after C!"

C'mon you Redmen!!

Bellamy got a little lucky with his goal but it was a firm header but i was more impressed by Bellamy's assists... to control the ball and quickly give it rather than having a blast showed fantastic awareness. I guess the best way to get over this whole infighting controversy was to take the field again.
I am not a Liverpool supporter but it's an extremely impressive win.

Dirk Kuyt has been one of Liverpool's best all season mate.

He works hard for his fellow striker, drops back into midfield to help out and can track back and defend. So to say he is 'Rubbish', I'm afraid, is uninitiated.

He has also scored goals in both the league and cup competitions.

If you honestly think he's rubbish, why not tell us why and justify your opinion?

Thought Arbeloa's first game was excellent, and with Mascherano to come in it bolsters the midfield even further, although there is no question of just how much better Liverpool are with Momo on the park.

And agree with the earlier call on Bellamy, his creative/set up play this year has been excellent.
