Asian Champions League

How do they decide which two Australian teams compete in this tournament? Is it the winners of the regular season and the winners of the major round i.e. Adelaide and Sydney in last year's A-League?

If that's the case, does this mean Melbourne have already qualified for the Asian Champions League in 2008 and if Melbourne also win the GF, who will be the second team should Adelaide not make the GF this year? Would it be the 2nd placed team at the end of the regular season or the Grand Final loser?

Yes it was our premier and champion that will compete this year but our season is askew with theirs and they need to know the entrants before the end of the year hence why its our last seasons' premiers and champions.
Melbourne might not be assured of a position as they might get caught in the "off year" as the seasons may come into allignment or an agreement on Australia naming their sides to await our champions/premiers may happen for next year, I think the A-League season is moving slightly too.

They probably have a plan set up if something like that happened, eg. the winner of the pre-season or the team that finished in the normal season or runner up of the whole thing.

Thanks for the replies. It's a great concept and one of the advantages of Soccer over Footy.
