Joint hosts of WC 2022

Postby Jim05 » Fri Jan 14, 2011 7:03 pm

Latest is that french prat platini has came out and said that he doesnt think qatar can host wc on its own. He thinks because of the size of the country and costs they incur that they would be best suited to sharing games with middle eastern neighbours. He has recommended games be held in bahrain, uae and saudi arabia.
I have no problem if this was a joint bid but they won the rights on a solo bid and now fifa are set to change the rules again. First of all moving to a january date and now this suggestion just proves that fifa are a money granbing bunch of pricks with no idea what they are doing. Pisses me off that they were the supposed best bid yet now they have got it nothing is right with it. What a joke

so does that mean there would be 4 host nations plus Spain as last world cup winners that would automatically qualify. Worst part would be apart from Spain and Saudi Arabia the other countries couldnt make the world cup on their own ability.

What's the minimum no. of barrels of oil that is required to be co-host?

They would probley just do it with the Saudi's if anyone. Also the winners of the last world cup dont auto qualify for the next world cup anymore so like everyone else spain will have to qualify, only host auto qualify.
The problem with Barcelona is that I like fish and chips but they had to turn it into calamari and patatas

This chits me to the max. Australia has hosted the following world cups Rugby league, Union and cricket world cups. We hosted the world Youth Soccer cup back in 1993. We have hosted the olympics have many great stadiums and they hand it to the oil barrons. Now they want it in Janurary. I will not watch the 2022 world cup.

While the whole thing is a joke, spreading it amongst a few country's rather than just having it in Qatar does make it slightly more appealing to attend.

Funnily enough that's a deal breaker for me
Although with the changed Ashes schedule a world cup in January 2022 will be out of the question anyway.

Although I'm led to believe there will be international ''fun zones'' set up that will be exempt from some of the harsher Islamic laws such as those relating to alcohol.
