World Cup Betting
Posted: Sat Jun 24, 2006 5:21 pmI usually hate having a punt on the soccer (I have to call it football over here or I get beaten haha), but I thought I would have a crack on the Aussie games.
So far my head has overtaken my heart and Im afraid it may continue.
I have bet with pounds at the local bookie, so I will give the Aust $ conversion in brackets.
£100 ($240) Aust to beat Japan return £235 ($564)
£235 Brazil to beat Australia return £300 ($720)
I then outlaid £150 (at 2.8/1) on Aust win & £150 Aust-Croatia Draw (at 3.5/1)
Total to date = £525 ($1260)
You can get better odds over here on the Italy game than TAB is offering, which is very handy. I am taking out my original £100 now and going to use the remaining £425 on Mondays round of 16 game. Even though Italy are not playing that well, I am leaning towards an Italy/draw split in the money (Italy $1.70 & Draw $3.90).
Anyone else got any money riding on any games. Please share your winning, or hard luck stories!!
