table after the first games in group a

Spain - 3points
Iraq - 1point

Egypt had a right old crack. If they turn up and play their A game, I'd go as far as saying that Egypt could beat anyone in the world. They're far too unpredictable and unreliable though, so will always be also-rans.

games from tonight

Spain 1 - 0 Iraq (Iraq defened well but what do you expect when they play 6 defenders, 2 defensive midfilders, 1 attacking midfiled and 1 striker, they only had one lapse which Spain punish them for)

Goal - Spain - David Villa 55'

Spain are though to the semis

South Africa 2 - 0 New Zealand (again the gap between OFC and the rest was shown, Kiwis main problem is the got smeltz who is a good player but the ball never gets to him and the got Glenn Moss who is a good keeper but everything inbetween is sub-par the kiwis dont conced goals cause moss is bad they conced cause there is no defence, South Africa played much better and with flair in this game than the Iraq game)

Goals - South Africa - Parker 21' 52'

Table
Spain 6 points (+6 goal dif)
South Africa 4 point (+2 goal dif)
Iraq 1 point (-1 goal dif)
New Zealand 0 points (-7goal dif)

It's the winners from each of the different football confederations.

Australia, being in the Asian Confederation didn't qualify as Iraq won the Asian Cup.

Yes, it's currently running. Brazil are still playing World Cup qualifyers, as are almost all other competing countries, including Spain etc.

It gets the winners from each of the worlds confederations playing. Australia used to qualify every year after winning the Oceana Confederation Title. However, now we're in Asia, we'll need to win the Asian Cup to Qualify. NZ now qualify as they top the Oceana Confederation.

Other Qualifiers:

Spain - Won the European Cup
USA - won the CONCACEF Cup

etc, etc.

Yes and no. It contains Mexico, Honduras, Trinidad & Tobago, so there is some talent there.

It's certainly a far stronger league than Oceana.
