Brazil superstar Kaka signs with Real Madrid for $113.5 million: report
From correspondents in Madrid, Spain
June 03, 2009 Brazilian playmaker Kaka has signed for Real Madrid from AC Milan in a €65-million ($113.5 million) deal, Spanish radio station Cadena Ser has reported.

Newly-installed Real president Florentino Perez sealed the deal with AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani and Bosco Leite, Kaka's father and agent, Cadena Ser said.

Kaka, currently in Brazil with the national team ahead of a World Cup qualifier against Uruguay, will sign up for five years and a salary of about €9 million (15.7 million) a year, the radio station said.

AC Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi had hinted at Kaka's departure moments before Cadena Ser had claimed he was indeed moving.

"I do not know if we can keep Kaka at Milan because they (Real) have offered him so much money," Berlusconi was quoted as saying by Italian press agency Ansa.

It comes on the same day as Kaka – who was courted by Barclays Premiership side Manchester City back in January – was telling La Gazzetto dello Sport he had no intention of quitting Milan.

"I'll tell you this for the last time, the very last. I don't want to leave Milan. To the millions of Milan fans, I tell you that I've made my choice. I've said I want to stay. Leave me in peace, please," Kaka told La Gazzetta dello Sport newspaper.

"I want to continue to win with Milan. And from today, all discussion is over."

Should his transfer be confirmed officially it comes a day after Milan lost their coach Carlo Ancelotti, who agreed to take over as manager of English FA Cup winners Chelsea.

It had been hoped that his connection with Milan would have persuaded Kaka to also move, but those hopes appear to have been dashed.

Ronaldo will not be going now if this is the case.

Hopefully helps keep Alonso at Liverpool too, now that Barry has signed with Man City ... Although the latest report was Cash + Player (striker IIRC) for Xabi.

WOW, Real Madrid don't have their man just yet. The Chavs have thrown their hat in the ring:

"Chelsea have made an astonishing £73.5million bid for AC Milan superstar Kaka, according to Sky Sports News sources. "

  The question is now, will Citeh throw in another trump card? IMO, it would have to be at least double Chavski's offer as Kaka would be highly unlikely to settle for anything less than a CL side.

Despite my real dislike of Chelski, It would be great to see Kaka in England.

Just read that apparently as part of the Kaka bid, the Chavs have offered a salary of GBP10m AFTER tax.

I wish I was a gun Brazilian footballer instead of a fat Aussie bum.

CHELSEA DENY £73.5m KAKA BID

Chelsea dismissed media reports they made a world record bid of £73.5m for AC Milan's Kaka.

Kaka's future is likely to be determined on Monday, according to AC Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi.

The Italian prime minister appeared on state television to say that "there is still no decision" on whether the Brazil international will move to Real Madrid.

Hours before Berlusconi's appearance, Chelsea issued a statement denying reports they had tabled a bid of £73.5 million for the 27-year-old. Real Madrid's bid is reportedly worth £56 million.
