Slavia Prague 2 Palermo 1
VfB Stuttgart 1 Middlesbrough 2

That Werder result is a surprise, although with Juve being the masters of the 1-Nil job, will still be tough for them to progress ...

Too close to call on that one, but Werder are one of the best attacking teams going around so it was a pretty good game. If they face Barcelona in the final it would be exquisite stuff.

Pretty good draw for Arsenal to miss Milan and Barca until the final .. Although all teams are top shelf here so naturally no easy opponent

Not to mention we need a soccer equivalent of "Almost Footy Legends" in light of events of the past week
Gerrard's backpass to Henry... what a beauty that was

Inter over Ajax last night.
3 Italian Clubs in the final 8 of the Champions League. There are more clubs from Milan in the final 8 than from the whole of Germany, Netherlands and England put together.

what a sensational effort by Boro to get over Roma in Rome this morning, they went 1-0 up thanks to JFH but conceded before the break, then Ray Parlour (didnt even know he still played) came on and gave away a penalty to put Roma up
luckily for Boro , Magical Mark Schwarzer saved them with some brilliant saves and Boro go through on away goals
im not a Middlesborough man but its good to see a smaller club progress, especially when their keeper is an Aussie hero

The UEFA Cup last eight are:
Sevilla
Schalke 04
Middlesbrough
FC Basle
Steaua Bucharest
Rapid Bucharest
Levski Sofia
Zenit St Petersburg
Half of those are from the former Eastern Bloc, something which hasn't happen in years!

HUGE result for Middlesborough last night in their Eufa Cup Quarter-final .. Entering the game trailing 2-0 from the first leg away to Swiss club Basel, Boro found themselves 1-0 down in the 23rd minute, and needing 4 goals (whilst keep Basel from scoring again) to take the tie .. By the time Viduka scored twice and Hasselbank connected with a peach, the tie was locked at 3-3, with Basel holding the away goal advantage .. However in the final minute of regulation time Maccorone bobbed up for the Teesiders who held on for the final few minutes to record an incredible 4-3 aggregate win, in a game that must surely go down in Boro' folklore!!
In Champions league everything appears to be going right for Arsenal as they have hit top form after moving past Juventus and into the Semi's ... With heavyweights Barcelona and AC Milan playing off against one another in the other semi, the draw has opened up nicely for the Gunners who meet Villareal in their half of the draw ..

Middlesborough lucky to only lose 1-0 last night in the Semi Final Leg 1. They are now a decent chance to at least take it to extra time, if not go straight through, as long as they dont concede a goal. Viduka back for leg 2 id say after being suspended leg 1

We're in the
2006 FA Cup Final, that's where we are:
13 May 2006
Liverpool FC
v West Ham FC at Cardiff.
Seen Man Utd off, dispatched Birmingham, dealt with Chelsea, now for the Hammers!

Villareal and Arsenal drew 0-0 with Lehmann saving a last minute penalty from Riquelme and securing Arsenal a place in the Final.
