World Cup - Brazil 2014

The World Game

we havent developed the younger generation because of the 'success' of the 2 world cup campaigns but surely blokes like Spiranovic, Rhys Williams and his brothers, Jedinak, Chris Herd (when not injured) should be in most squads, whatever happened to Nathan Burns.

Also im a massive Archie Thompson fan off course, loved seeing him score last night but surely Scott MacDonald is a better proposition heading into Brazil, i would have thought a friendly like Lebanon would have been perfect for Scotty M, once he put that first one away im sure they will come alot more frequently.

Even Schwarzer is on the slide both at club level and international. We have an abundance of good keepers yet not one is getting a go, even in the most obscure friendlies. What about Langeraak? who is at Borrisia Dortmund surely has to be given some game time.

imho we are heading the wrong way and the international side is almost becoming a 'boys clubs' similar to the Indian test cricket team.

Archie with the winner...

In other results, powerhouse Honduras gave Canada an 8-1 hammering so they failed to get out of their group with Honduras and Panama going through. Pretty embarrassing.

Germany were 4-0 up against Sweden in Germany but the Swedes somehow pulled off a miracle 4-4 draw.

Uruguay also got thrashed again, this time it was 4-1 in Bolivia.

Good to see tommy oar get a run. He should be starting more if we are to do anything at brazil we need to get starts into blokes like oar.

The dads army at the back is a huge concern we keep getting hit on the counter with slow leg speed at the back

That cross by Tommy Oar to Archie was superb!

Neill is suspended for the next game I believe so we will be forced to try someone else, hopefully they take their chance and perform... even though he will probably walk straight back into the team for the next game.

Agreed, having seen plenty of Lucas Neill especially at his time at West Ham he has to be the dumbest centre back in world football.

Sits of opponents when he shouldnt, slide tackles when he doesnt need to, has no skill with ball at feet, is slow.

Next time you watch Lucas Neill play heres a game.

Play skulls every time he gets the ball and chips it to another teammate chest high when the ball could be comfortably played on the deck, YOU WILL BE SMASHED BY HALF TIME MY GUARENTEE.

Yeah Tommy Oar is special imho, if we can get lots of game time into him and Robbie Kruse we will be very dangerous out wide come Brazil if we make it.

Also our game plan is way to predictable, we get the ball wide which is great but every single time its a wallyed cross into Tim Cahill, its all good and well against Asian Minnows but we will not get a point playing this style in Brazil. I would love to see us try and work the ball into the box, and maybe cut inside occasionally when we have the ball out wide.

Lucas Neill is still living of his one good world cup. slow overrated much like geelong. Tommy Oar perfect football when needed, inspiration. But cant gloat on one game. Our form has been sliding for years. what other forward prospects do we have?

Ends 2-2
Never seen a bigger pack of time wasting cheating kents. Doesnt help when you have a Paki ref looking after his Arab brothers.
Very poor first half, much better second half but seriously need to start cleaning out the deadwood. Thwaites and Cornthwaite are rubbish
