Spurs 2-0 up on 38 mins thanks to some shocking marking by young boys, allowing crouchy a free header, plus a blatant, shocking, Henry-esque handball by defoe. (But I'll take it  )

Harry Redknapp quotes:
"It is a good night for Tottenham - as a kid I used to come training here and watched the games with Benfica in those great days, and at that time it was amazing to see European football and the way this place was jumping.

These days were the beginning of the club's anthem 'Glory, Glory Tottenham Hotspur'.

"To bring it back tonight was great for the fans - and that is what it is all about really, the supporters, we have given them something to look forwards to in the Champions League."

Damn straight!

Redknapp declared: "Now I will probably just go home, have a bacon sandwich and a cup of tea, that is all I want.

LMFAO. What a classic bloke old twitch is. Cup o tea and a bacon sarnie.

"This is a club with European tradition, under the great Bill Nicholson, I would not be in the same class as him, and never will be, but it is great for the club to be in this position now."

Goosebumps. i never thought I see this day. Tomorrow Tottenham hotspur will be drawn alongside Barcelona, Real Madrid, Inter Milan, AC Milan, Bayern Munich, Lyon, Werder Bremen, Benfica, Roma, Ajax, etc, etc.

We will defiinitely be drawn with one of Inter, Barca, Bayern Munich, AC Milan or Lyon. Fingers Crossed for Barca!!!!!!!!

Today is a great, great day!

well from now on in there will be no excuse when the spuds dont go anywhere in the EPL and the champions league. You have your chance....now you have to take that. If you fall away like a certain leeds did then you only have yourselves to blame and no one else ;)

Tottenham are the France of European club football.

It will be interesting to see who they get drawn in the group stage now.

Why do you want Barca? Because of the big game, a match at Camp Nou etc?

Surely you would want to avoid them! But it is probably better to get them out of the way in the group stage rather than the knockout round...

Both of those reasons!

Massive game - it would be magic to see Messi and his mates at the Lane on a european night!

And to get them out of the way early would be a bonus too.

Plus, by getting Barca in the group stage, you can't be drawn with Real Madrid, who are in pot 2. A mare of a draw would be Inter, Real and Auxerre.

I'd love: Barca, Benfica (Massive history between Spurs and Benfica) and Zilina (who fingers crossed we could at least draw with at home

Drawing Lyon from Pot 1 would be the easy option out, but all disrespect intended, who the **** are Lyon  - that'll no doubt come back and take a chunk out of my fat arse!

Lyon have been decent in recent Champions Leagues so they wouldn't be a pushover. Definitely the easier of the Pot 1 teams though.

It would be interesting if United drew Rangers, a return to Manchester for their rioting fans...
