Anyone but Chelski.
Their callers on BBC Live last night made me sick.
Even the radio announcer was giving them stick about it.
A l'pool / man u final would be absolutely HUGE.
I'm confident we can make the final IF we get passed Arsenal.

Yeah mate, if Chavski win, I'm coming home!!!

Agree that if the Pool can get past Ar5ena1, they should make the final.

For you lads over there in the land of warm beer, has there been any outcry as to the Uefa draw for the Champions League Quarters?

The following link shows a Forum where someone has claimed to know the 4 matchups PRIOR to the supposedly live draw

Got my $50 free bet @ $3.10 for a draw.

I am really worried about this tie though.

Noticed that Chelsea players are still talking about meeting 'pool in the semi's........

COME ON THE TURKS !

EDIT - The bet was on Le Arse - 'pool 1st leg

Good thing that pinnaple was a free bet Smithy beacuse your lot were AMAZING. They totally dominated Roma and the Ronaldo/Rooney show was in full swing again.

Ronaldo's goal showed that not only is he a class act, but he's got no fear whatsoever. Cracking header.

Barca got the job done over Schalke 1-0. The media scrutiny and pressure around Rijkaard was hilarious with journos asking whether he'd bought a parachute, should Barca lose again after their piss poor showing on the weekend.

Anyhoo, roll on Liverpool tomorrow to bring down Le Arse.

At least Pool v Arsenal will be more like a real game of footy (as far as it can be in the EPL), compared to that crap tonight.

Boring, full of dives and european cheats. Bull sh1t

I thought some one had taken a twelve bore into the ground, they way they were going down.

Anyhow, good see Man U win if only because they are a UK side.

Brilliant performance by United this morning. Sir Alex had the tactics tuned to perfection from the start and the boys out there were not nervous at all, well if they were they didn't show it. It had to be Ronaldooooooooo to score first didn't he? That boy can do as he pleases, for all his dribbling and shooting abilities.. he's also amazing in the air and that was a cracking header.

The second goal was lucky but we deserved it, great header back across goal by Park though set that up. Ronaldo could have grabbed a hattrick and United 3..4...5 it could have been ALMOST as bad as the game at OT last year. Roma must despise us by now!! 8)

By the way lads, I'm pretty sure smithy goes for Liverpool. I'll trust you won't make that same mistake again ;)

Ok, deep breath, coz this is gonna hurt ... Barring divine intervention (a spate of injuries or something), there's no team going to stop Man U in either the CL or the EPL this year, they are just exceptional, professional and ruthless!

I thought Roma were playing better than last year and would be more difficult to get past than last year, but 2-zip away is an awesome result and the Mancs can start preparing for the Semi's.

Roma were playing better, they are chasing hard for the Serie A title, they were missing Totti but that's only one player.. obviously a huge player for them but they can't rely on the one man.

It does show that the EPL is streets ahead of the Serie A at the moment.

I think it depends on who gets to the final. An all EPL final would make things interesting as it is a different style of play.

A Chelski v Man U final would be more open and could go either way, Pool are awesome in Europe and may prove a different kettle of fish if they make the final and were up against Man u, but they would have to have a big change in mind set and not play it like an EPL game.

Still got to agree, United look pretty good for the double.

Yeah thats a fair call Johnny, although I don't think Liverpool can challenge Man U unfortunately ... Chelsea and Arsenal would provide their stiffest competition, but I'd still back them to get the job done.

Liverpools owners have requested to be seated as far away from each other as possible for the champs league game against Arsenal.
I guess they didn't like the last photo taken of the couple together.

Le Arse 1 - 1 Liverpool

Get in. Very entertaining game so far. Come on you reds!

Chavski up 1-0 against Fenerbache at half time in the other game.

Forgot it was on until 1/2 time. great run by Gerard for the Pool goal.

Speaking of Liverpool, just read an article in the local rag about the Everton v Liverppol v Everton derby. Police are to speak to both clubs about two incidents that took place last week.

Apparently Everton captain Neville was spat at and punched by a Liverpool fan as he went to take a throw in. Funnily, I saw him remonstrating with the crowd during the game but it never mentioned what it was about.
The police will also speak to Everton about the "hatefilled abuse from a section of the Everton fans" towards Gerrard.

Both clubs are to ask their fans to get back to the freindly rivalry that used to exist between the two clubs. It seems the freindly banter that used to exist (even in the same family), has dissolved as pressure to be the top Merseyside club heats up. Both clubs state that they have noticed over the last few derby games, that fans are no longer mixing and having banter in the friendly way that has existed between them for many long years.

Sad if true, and it would appear it is true, as they were famous for the rivalry that existed in such a friendly way

How was that not a penalty to Arsenal? Hleb was clearly dragged down by Kuyt:roll:

Since the non penalty it has been all Arsenal. Had three of four great chances to score including Bendnar blocking a clear would be goal bound shot from his own team mate Fabregas.

Good game though. Much better than that crap served up last night

Final scores

Arsenal 1 - 1 Liverpool
How Liverpool managed to hang on beggers belief. You can bet the kitcehn sink is on the Reds team bus winging it's way back to Liverpool

Fenerbache 2 - 1 Chelski
Fenerbache come back from a goal down to win.

Got to fancy Pool and Chelski in the return legs. Pool just need a goaless draw, whilst a 1 - 0 wind will do it fro Chelski.

Can't imagine Liverpool will try to hang on to a goaless draw and they are pretty strong at home in European comps, although Arsenal have a good record at Anfield.
Very close to call this, but fro me, Liverpool to pip it 1 - 0

Chelski, despite the away loss must also fany their chances. The Turks are sure to shut up shop at Stamford Bridge, but Chelski's class should carry them through. Chelski to nick it 1 - 0 IMO
