Yes because in 2010 we would of played Bahrain for a spot but atleast we aren't gifted a spot like the Yanks everytime. CONCACAF is the worst region in World football, must be hard for Mexico and the Yanks to beat Canada, Belize, Guatemala and the likes of Trinidad every campaign.

no because we played off to a south American country that had a woeful few games against the same and weren't up to scratch. And even so these teams from south America we played off to make the WC could wipe us off the park with their second string team.

Don't forget we have aerial ping pong and mugby as our dominated sports so it will always be harder for Australia to have a show

Not true, the Oceania winner plays differant conferences each time
In 2006 we qualified by beating a half decent Uruguay side.
In 2010 had we not been in Asia we would of played the 5th placed Asian side which was Bahrain, so we would of beaten them no problems. This year we would of copped the 4th placed CONCACAF side which was Mexico who are ok one day and rubbish the next

How about some sneaky dollars on Belgium for the World Cup?? Or at the very least to make then Semi's?? The toughest opponents they would have to over come are Argentina, Germany, Portugal and France maybe...

Have a look at their side, not bad at all...

Mignolet (Liverpool)
Vertonghen (Tottenham)
Vermaelen (Arsenal)
Dembele (Tottenham)
Chadli (Tottenham)
De Bruyne (Chelsea)
Hazard (Chelsea)
Fellaini (Man Utd)
Kompany (Man City)
Lukaku (Everton)
Benteke (Aston Villa)
Mirallas (Everton)
Januzaj (Man Utd) Yet to play for the senior national side i think..

They play Algeria, Russia and Korea in Group H so i would imagine a top finish for them. That would then pitch them against Germany or Portugal in the round of 16 and then they may have to face off against Argentina.. at $15 i might chuck some $$ on them them but at $3.75 to reach the Semi's it is probably not worth it.

Good side but cant see them getting past the quarters.
Cant see Januzaj playing for Belgium, he has refused to play for them several times at junior level in World Cups. He is eligible for Belgium, Turkey, Serbia and Albania and is yet to choose who he will play for. The Poms are also trying to fast track him into English Nationality so he can play for them in time for the 2018 WC

I'm with you Cossi. I said it last year that I'll put 10 on them. Who knows with a team full of solid EPL players how they will go. Didn't they smash their group during qualifiers too?

Dont book your tickets to Curitaba just yet for the Spain game, venue is in a shambles and is has very little chance of being completed in time. Venue change looming

Got most of my stuff booked now, if you think Cuiaba is a ****, spare a thought for those of us with a match up in Manaus, paid nearly $850 each for flights out there from Cuiaba and then back to Porto Alegre, the flight from Porto Alegre has already been rescheduled and we now have 3 stopovers between Manaus and Porto Alegre.

Anybody got accommodation booked in Cuiaba for Australia's first match? I'm in need of a place to store a couple bags during the match as it doesn't sound like there are any lockers at the airport or bus station there.

I'm just hanging out now for the ticket draw, praying for a bit of luck.

Any luck with tickets lads? I've had 3 accounts charged in the last 24 hours and I've worked out that I've got 2x cat 1 tickets to 7 matches.
I know one of them is an England match because of what we applied for on that account, but the other 6 could be any of the England and Australia matches, but I've doubled up on at least 1 game.

I doubled up on a few matches so I've got the following spares, all category 1.

2 x Australia vs Chile
2 x Australia vs Netherlands
4 x England vs Costa Rica

I'm after the following in any category,

2 x England vs Italy
2 x England vs Uruguay
2 x Australia vs Spain
2 x France vs Ecuador

I will sell the spares but my preference is to swap for tickets that I need.
