Not sure that we should be looking towards England as a model for developing world class players.

Because the English national side is a joke.
Watch them huff and puff about winning the World Cup only to get dismantled at the quarters as usual.
Take all the foreigners out of the EPL and it would be A-League standard, apart from a few the English players are simply not good enough. For a country with their population and it being their number 1 sport their international record is quite laughable

I was more just pointing out the new world class training and national team development facility which is a great idea, which in truth they copied France, Spain, Germany, Netherlands and Italy in having one.... Italy even have one for Coaches and Managers as well. So it was more that we should produce something like that to help us develop.
The problem with Barcelona is that I like fish and chips but they had to turn it into calamari and patatas

I think that the English side would walk all over the Australian side.

Probably would but so would plenty of others. With their population and number of players at their disposal they should have far better international results than what they have.
Wont get past the quarters in Brazil

Only as good as your last meeting and the fact is we embarassed them on their own turf and their side was better than what they currently have. ;)

This guy is the only person standing between Andy D and complete domination of the World's Worst Sports Administrator category.

Global sport he says and then wants all the worlds major football leagues to change their season to suit him!

How good is it seeing Ethiopia qualify for stage 3? Imagine if they win the playoff?

Was fantastic, would love to see them make it.
Was great to see Cape Verde get through aswell, population of under 500k and have made it through to the final stage.
The African qualifiers are fantastic to watch

Had Ethiopia not fielded an ineligible player they would of blitzed their group too which had SA. I enjoyed seeing lesser nations make that 3rd stage. There were another couple surprises wasn't there?

USA and Costa Rica also qualified today, Mexico in real strife and could miss.

Just shows what a farce the CONCACAF is, 3 1/2 spots to a mediocre confederation yet africa only gets 5 spots and south america 4 1/2.
USA are basically guaranteed a spot every world cup and the other 3-4 spots ate taken up by scrubbers like Jamaica, Hondurus and Panama. How Mexico is struggling in that group staggers me

Agree common sense says South America get an extra spot and Concaf lose at least one spot possibly two.

Please leave Jamaica out of the scrubbers category!! ;)
