but if rangers and celtic did join the English leagues surely they just cant enter into the EPL. Im sure other English teams in the other divisions would disagree to it and say they had to come from the bottom. Would be unfair to other clubs if the scottish teams just went straight into the EPL and thats the big reason they never will. Teams like rangers and celtic...who would support them in Div 3 etc??

Rangers and celtic will go straight into premier league. For the first year they will play a 22 team comp with rangers and celtic included then at the end of season 5 would be relegated and 3 promoted to bring it back to 20 team comp. Yes their fans are wankers but positives outweigh the negatives. Imagine tv revenue, everyweek would be huge. Will happen within next 10 years.
And for what its worth id love watching us flog the old scum teams every year. They would both be lucky not to relegated first season

But wouldn't that mean the CCC would have to increase by two, to 26 teams or two more would have to be relegated and so on through all the divisions including all the the divisions in the pyramid sysytem and here is where the problem lies.

There are two governing bodies, one for the EPL and one for the rest. Both would have to agree to the changes and both have to get agreement fron their members, I.e. the clubs, and I just can't see that happening. Even Barnet would have the right to veto the deal.

The only way it could happen is if the EPL expanded the division by two more teams. They could then bypass the FA but I still couldn't see happening as most of the top sides complain about the congested fixture list as it is with league, cup, and European fixtures.

All this talk on Sky about how they are considering playing the Old firm games behind closed doors. Is this from now on or just a few matches after mid week game where it all went pair shaped?

That's pathetic if it's true. Games behind closed doors was reserved for clubs who couldn't control their fans, not clubs who can't control their players and managers

lets hope that things dont go down the road like in italy for example with 15foot high fences around the ground.

And if they play behind doors then the clubs would lose money as the fans bring in the money aswell as the sponsors

My thoughts exactly, if the majority of problems are on the pitch, how do they honestly think playing the matches behind closed doors is going to fix that?

The dons get a live game on setanta this morning, away to dundee utd. Maximum points would lift us a spot or two, still a chance to finish in top 6 before the split happens.

Disappointing effort going down 3-1. Poor first half but started second half brightly and maggenis pulled one back but uniteds 3rd took the energy out. Finished off hopes of top half finish.

Full Time Rd 6 Scottish Cup
St Mirren 1-1 Aberdeen
The dons luck to earn a replay a Rory McArdle scored a very late injury time equaliser. Played well in patches but a very scrappy cup tie. At least we get the replay back at Pittodrie next week.
