That and the fact I don't reckon they could bear to be put out 4 years straight in the semi's (and 3 times by us) ... Surely they are due to break that hoodoo this year? :(

Will be interesting if they do, to see if the critics lay off Grant, given the "Special One" was never able to get Chelski through to the final.

Actually come to think of it, we were away in the 2nd leg to Inter in the Round of 16 this year.

Yeah but Inter don't count..I meant proper football teams

The Pool just seemed to have the second leg at home forever...

No surprises in tonights games.

Semis are:

Liverpool v Chelski
Barcelona v Man U

Team listed first plays home leg first which would suggest Chelski and Man U have a slight upper hand.

I'm still tipping (and hoping for) a Liverpool v Man U final though.

Perfect result for united. Able to rest Ronaldo for the full match and Rooney for the majority of it. Also good for Silvestre to get a full run as i think United will need him in these final games. And of course great to see the Neviller make his comeback....altho i am not sure about him continually playing in Central midfield....

Of course this all could have gone horribly wrong if De Rossi didnt make a mockery of his penalty.

Bring on Barcelona!!

That penalty was hilarious. What would Totti have been thinking when he saw that?!

Good to get through unscathed and Rio played which was brilliant. Also good to see the skipper Gary Neville back in a red shirt.

Tonight.

Liverpool v Chelski

Going to be a tight one this with a packed midfield. Chelski likely to play it long as often as not, in the hope of getting Drogba behing the Pool defence. Liverpool more likely to go for a passing game and try to play Gerrard and Torres through.

Expect a typical EPL type game.

Dunno if your're still watching MT,

Liverpool take the lead through Dirk Kuyt. 43 mins gone Pool 1 - 0 Chelski.

To be fair Pool have had the better chances for the 1st half but they are playing to the Kop end for the 1st half.

Game gone pretty much as thought. Chelski playing long or trying to use Cole, whilst Pool try to play through .

67 mins gone.

Drogba you cheating, diving cheating bastard. You make me want to puke you f$%king cheat.

DROGBA IS A DIRTY CHEAT

Blokes like this give football a bad name. Thank f$%k the ref wasn't sucked in.

F$%king wanker   No wonder Chelski are one of the most hated sides in English Football

Anfield let him know what they think of him

Liverpool playing a dangerous game. They have dropped off to the 16 yrd box and are letting Chelski come on to them. I would have thought that Chelski have too much talant to be playing these tactics and hoping for a break away goal.

Liverpool looked far more dangerous when they were attacking Chelski and playing flowing, passing football.

Riese has just scored an own goal after 94 minutes.

WTF was he trying to do ???? OK, I know what he was trying to do but FFS, use your bloody feet you fat git.

Sorry, it might appear that I am barracking for Pool, but I barrack for anyone who plays cheating Chelski, well almost anyone. Nightmare game is b4st4rds v Chelski.

Final Score, as JAR's touch was the last

Liverpool 1 - 1 Chelski
Kuyt 43, Riese og 94

Chelski got out of jail there but like I said, Liverpool played a dangerous game for 40 minutes, giving space in the midfiled. Funny thing is they had 3 good chances to kill this off when they did finally decide attack was the best form of defence.

Makes it interesting for the 2nd leg. Liverpool will have to come out play and that will leavwe them open to the long ball tactic that Chelski like to play

THAT REF WAS A F*CKING DISGRACE

uefa need to look at this game cause there is no other explanation for his performance other than him being bribed.

Terry should've had 5 yellow cards, including deliberately kneeing Torres whilst he lay on the ground.
Torres was battered all night, unlike that cheating f*cking Drogba b$stard who went down like a lame duck every time someone sneezed.

Liverpool should've had 2 clear cut penalties.

Drogba is alone responsible for 3 of the 4 minutes being added on.

Then John Arne (I'm playing somewhere else next season) Riise has a brain explaosion of stupid proporsions and f*cked all the good work..

NOT HAPPY !

Feel for ya smithy. Always the bloody same with chelski. Blokes like Terry, Lampard and the Cole twins get away with murder.

What about that tackle by A Cole on Kuyt, near the far touchline. Not just the ref who was a f$%king joke. The linesman who waved play on was a f$%king joke too.

Maybe the ref had to give shares to the assistants

Can't see us scoring twice at the Bridge, gonna be REAL tough from here :(

I ******* hate football, such a prick of a game sometimes.

Smithy how about you have a look at the quarter final? You are lucky to even be in the semis after Kuyt's blatant tug on Hleb's shirt, maybe that ref was bribed and UEFA should have a look at him. Liverpool fans always think everything is against them and fail to see things when they go their way, Carragher wasn't penalised for his tackle but I guess he never does at Anfield even though he does that quite often.

As for diving, your own captain is one of the worst going around. Have a look at the Blackburn game recently to see for yourself. He even publicly states he hates divers yet still does it.

Nice header by Riise though.

Kuyt on Hleb was 50/50 I thought.....the 2 missed today were blatant.
Carraghers so called foul on Drogba might've been awarded if he didn't go down * so often and anyway was outside the box.
The ref today gave everything chelsea's way, free kicks, throw ins, 4 minutes extra time.....no penalty calls, terry should've been received 5 yellow cards at least.

Show me where Gerrard admits to diving please............provide a link so I can read it
