I'm watching the archery at the mo and I think most of todays no shows must be due to the downpours and thunder storms they're having...at least for the outdoor venues.

P.S.You really wouldn't want to upset the French birds

There were even vacant seats at the swimming but with many of the venues, especially the bigger indoor stadiums some of the seats looked as if they are so far back and up high that you will either choke on the smog or go blind trying to strain your eyes to see the participants who would look as large as ants from that far back!
I bet a few people have spat it given the ticket prices and the location of the nose bleed seats they were given!

Majority of the no shows would be all corporate tickets. I know in Sydney I had tickets to some even from a sponsor that I didn’t use because I had other events on or was just to tired to go from doing other stuff all day and when you haven’t paid for them it no bit loss.
While on the topic of tickets I haven’t tried myself to find scalpers as yet but talking to people at the hostel they are out there but the cheaper tickets are from Chinese people who don’t speck English so very hard to negotiate price and the Americans scalpers are buying up a lot of these tickets and selling them a reticulose prices.

The irony is that at the mens cycling road race, everyone was locked out (in terms of the supporters).
A cynic would suggest that the Chinese were terrified that a Free Tibet banner would appear roadside....
