One of the commentators said he rode a shocker and didn't handle the pressure in the last time trial of the Tour. Was his time trial time really that bad because he was expected to be much quicker than the people around him on the leaderboard and he wasn't. Could the commentator have been right?

I think the he had just ridden the tour practically on his own as his team were not upto the challenge and was beaten by a great climber who was in a great team that had 4 or 5 riders at the front of the pack almost the whole tour. He was 6th or 7th in the time trial so I don’t think he choked at all and don’t be surprised if an Aussie wins the Road race thanks to the work of the team.

Australia also have a wild card entry in to the time trial so if Cadel pulls up ok after the road race he will go in the time trial.

Exactly TB. It would be great to have an Aussie backed team compete in the TDF and pull all of our blokes into the same team. I wonder what might have been if Cadel had had the support of Stu O'Gradey this year? Perhaps an extra 2-3 min's? Quite plausable IMO.

The cycling will be one of the few Olympic events I actually bother to watch. Hopefully Mic rogers is fit and ready to have a crack at gold.

Well Cadel is currently paying $51 for the road race, with O'Grady at $34
