Probably think of loads later but the three that spring to mind immediately would be from childhood...

I was 8 in 1980 and remember the "Moscow Moscow" song being played all the time.

Was too young to remember another Olympic moment from 1972, the year i was born, but am always quite fascinated to read about, and see footage of, the Gold Medal going to Russia in the Men's basketball that year, in quite a sensational manner, against the USA.

I remember in 1984 watching on the classroom tv, Dean Lukin win Gold in the weightlifting. There were a few weightlifters not competing because of the boycott but its always something i'll remember.

Nadia Comaneci in 1976, i remember as a little kid watching her perform, she was quite incredible in those Games.

I agree with all of the above all great moments was lucky enough to be at the swimming when Eric the Eel swam I think he now working in mine and cant afford to keep training.

My 2 favourite are -

Derek Redmond from the UK in Barcelona 400m semi when he did is hammy and his Dad came from the stands to help him finish the race.

John Stephen Ahkwari from Tanzania in the marathon at Mexico 1968 he finished and hour and a half behind the winner. is leg was bloodied and bandaged. when he was asked why he kept going he said, 'You don't understand. My country did not send me 5,000 miles to start a race, they sent me to finish it.

Neither won gold or a medal but that is what the Olympics is all about. if you don't get a tingle down the spine when you seat both of these Olympic moments than there is something wrong with you.

Perkins - easily the best. That really was a race that stopped the nation.

Watching the Kookaburras taking gold at Athens with the Loxton Hockey Club - the home of player Grant Schubert. It was amazing watching people who'd helped a players early career and their reactions to his success. I think that was a big privilege.

US college kids beat the professional USSR players 4-3 after being walloped by them 10-3 a few weeks before the games.
Contrary to popular opnion, this game was not for the Gold Medal. It was part of a second round round-robin tournament.
The US stitched up the gold with a 4-2 come-from-behind win over Finland two days later.
The greatest upset in any type of Olympics.

Ben Johnson's 100 metres @ Seoul 1988 and Bruce McAvaney's "If its legal!" call.
