Since Daley Thompson, Sebastian Coe and Steve Ovett retired, i didn't think GB had any athletes who competed at the Olympics ;)

ooooh [-X you cheeky Port person

How could you forget about Sally Gunnell, Denise Lewis and Kelly Holmes to name but three...all won track and field gold medals. Of course there was also Linford and his famous 'lunchbox' ...and another thing...how many have won gold medals at 5 consecutive Olympics other than Steve Redgrave.

I was in your neck of the woods (roughly speaking, a little further South from where you are, just out of Glasgow) during the Athens games, JAS and it was quite interesting to watch coverage form the perspective of a different country. I remember the feeling locally when gold was won by the GB athletes. It took a web search to find results of the Australians, something I took for granted previously.

Look out for Nick Woodbridge in the TeamGB in Modern Pentathlon he got his spot thanks to a lawyer with some fancy work in the courts rather than sporting ability. He got the Aussie competitor Alexander Parygin removed claming he won his Olympic spot in lesser compertitions even though it was an Asian/Oceanic qualification event.

At least the High Court has done something right. Dwain Chambers won't be taking part.

I cannot believe how many people they had on the news who thought he should get an injunction. It's not as if he was prescribed the wrong asthma medicine or something...the DH deliberatly set out to cheat FFS. If the court's decision makes just one athlete think twice then I'm all for it.
