Masterful NZ batsman, and a favourite of mine LOU VINCENT
is poised to join SA to play next season .
Is this the new skipper.?
ROD ROOSTER is Lou the """"""""""""answer""""""""""""
I am expecting another former domestic player to come back and play next season as well.
And perhaps another overseas aquisition on the cards.

That's a huge pickup for SA. He is a superb batsman. Not sure he'll make a captain but he should make a truckload of runs.

The big question remains - What does this mean for his international career? Would NZ be prepared to pick him from SA? Lets face it he will be playing a better standard so he should be better prepared for International cricket. I doubt NZ would be willing to pick him if he isn't playing over there though.

Why would he give up an international career to play for the Redbacks? Perhaps he'll join us in 5 years time...

I also find this hard to believe. You would definitely have to say that he would be throwing away an international career by doing this. Maybe SA have thrown him more $$$ than what he is making playing for NZ...

He has to have an Australian Passport and live here for about 4 years, from what I understand.

hold your horses guys the tiser article implies that they are talking to him and have got a postive response from Lou. doesn't mean that he has signed on the dotted line yet.
If he does come here is he likely to go back to Prospect or will some other club come to the party??????

I think you've just about nailed the right order they should get picked in already there Mal. Vincent would be a distance behind a few other guys for the Australian team.

If he does sign this is a massive pickup for us, he was very good in Australia in the CB series. Usually though, when we sign 'gun' recruits they become duds so let's hope this doesn't happen to Lou, he is only 28 though I think so still young in cricketing terms and has many years left.

I am lost as to how he can do this and still play for NZ as our seasons coincide? Have I missed something, doesn't he make their side anymore?

Guys he's not coming this year but he says that he would like to come when he's a washed up hack like every other recruit that we've had recently

I'd rate him number four. Dear oh dear. Put a red cap on the bloke and he becomes a champion...just like Flower and Elliott LOL.
