Have you ever noticed that guys who were exciting players to watch such as Ian Chappell and Doug Walters are extremely boring commentators yet Geoff Boycott, that high point of tedium was quite witty and an entertaining commentator in his day.
However to every rule there is an exception and I present to you one Nasser Hussain. Hussain was one of the most boring batsmen to ever come out of England and for a nation that has produced Boycott, Tavare, Bailey, Emburey, Brearley and Bell that is saying something. Nasser has extended his colourless approach into his abysmally one sided commentary career.
Nas was at it again this morning. Here I was trying to wake up ang get ready for work and Nasser was talking up the only side that mattered right up to the delightful last ball loss that Sri Lanka mercifully delivered. 'Spare a thought for Ravi' said Nasser who really didn't spare a thought for anyone who wasn't wearing the royal blue of England.
Please England, just keep losing and with a bit of luck they'll send Nasser home and we won't have to hear him again until the 2009 Ashes series.
