VIC v SA 1 DAYER 31/1/07

At least Elliott wont be able to give the Vics a gift win on a silver platter this time as one day
rules dont allow for gift declarations.
the players must have been gutted by that inexplicable declaration after being in a rare position
of strength.
i'm sure Bailey and the other bowlers would rather have been bowling to super attacking field settings,
with the Vics chasing 5 an over rather than a paltry 3.5 and worrying about going for runs and
setting semi-defensive fields.
Mathew Elliott u r a DISGRACE but as Mal would say--- its not your fault, its the selectors.

1/80 16 OVERS
D HARRIS19[19] good while it lasted
CAMERON 13*[25] injured knee ????????????????????????????
ELLIOTT 44*[52]

Hodge does not want to give CAMERON a runner said he was injured in the p/c game!!!!

Our most successful o/d match winning batsman Matthew ELLIOTT is
leading from the front in a dazzling display.
Well on his way to his 3rd century in 7 games.

###########################################################
ELLIOTT was dropped at 2nd slip by HUSSEY on 33
That would have been the 3rd time HUSSEY woould have caught out ELLIOTT in a week
A RECORD PERHAPS IF HE CAUGHT HIM
############################################################

250 on the cards we need it TAIT not playing

I would imagine that 250 might not be enough.
280+ required.

and, with 8 wickets in hadn Cameron needs to amp it up a bit. SR @ 54 is too slow.

3/164[35]
CAMERON 42[79] good technique, p/c more suitable
SMITH 5*[12] debut game, looks ok
COSGROVE 28*[29] going well ANOTHER START

260 LOOKS LIKELY, NOT ENOUGH, NEED 283 AT LEAST

SA 3/164 (35 overs)

Cosgrove 29*
Smith 5*

This is a great chance for Cosgrove to really show everyone that he can play cricket, and the previous 18 months prior to this season weren't a fluke.

I like the look of the team today as well. Adcock and Cleary are both decent allrounders, and give the team better balance. With Tait out though, it may be difficult for SA to bowl VIC out with only Gillespie as the true strike bowler.

Cosgrove out for 33 (34). Failed again. Seriously he was probably getting tired. Carrying all that weight does not bode well for long innings. FFS he got out to Hodge

As soon as Cosgrove starts looking good he gets out, he just can not build a decent innings. The fact he got out to Hodge sums up his season, how embarrassing. A fit Cosgrove would take part timers like Hussey and Hodge apart.

8/238
CLEARY 8*[5] should be in the team every game
GILLESPIE 2*[4]

ELLIOTT 63[70] super innings
D HARIS 19[19] sensational until out
CAMERON 42[79] better in 4 day games, honest effort
COSGROVE 33[34] little gem ANOTHER START then out
SMITH 27[41] handy on debut, looks ok
ADCOCK 32[39] solid effort
MANOU 3 [7] hmn
R HARRIS 1 [3] run out

Hollywood hurricane HARWOOD 3/33[8] the old fella still has it
HUSSEY 1/29[8] very underated off spinner

We are about 25 short, Vics look winners
However it is the highest score this season at the MCG in domestic o/d cricket
No TAIT a prob.

GILLESPIE/R HARRIS/CLEARY/CULLEN must bowl 10 overs each
ADCOCK other 10 or share with Dan HARRIS

Pathetic effort in the end. We were cruising along to a good total considering the wickets in hand, then we stop scoring and start losing wickets. Bloody hell we are embarrassingly crap.

Csogrove will probably open the bowling.

Yes it ended up disappointing but look at the batting line up
238 is a good score for them.
Its just enough to be competitive.

My odds

VI $1-25
SA $3-50

IF COSGROVE does not bowl

VI $1-40
SA $2-80

Who is gunna get HODGE + HUSSEY out :?:
