SA v. TAS - Pura Cup game from Bellerive

Postby TigerBoss » Mon Dec 12, 2005 12:38 pm

SA had a great start...

TAS won the toss and chose to bat but are 3/39 at present, off 29 overs...with a run rate of just above 1 run per over.

Rofe has all 3 wickets, with Manou also involved in all 3 wickets behind the stumps.

Tassie without Dan Marsh or Di Venuto or even Xavier Doherty...quite a shite looking side on paper so hopefully we're able to skittle them by stumps tonight and set a big target...

From all reports, Cam batted beautifully. Started slowly, but made his move later in the innings. Good unconquered knock of 106 so far. Hopefully he can push on and make a bigger score tomorrow.

Shane Deitz did what he had to do. Passed the new ball, and added a solid 42. Mark Cosgrove helped propel the Redbacks beyond 200 with a burly 76.

Darren Lehmann (17no) has actually played second fiddle in the partnership with Borgas at the moment - a stand that has yielded nearly 50 runs - which is very surprising.

At this stage, unless South Australia can post a first innings lead of at least 150 by stumps, this game will probably drag out to a tame draw.

Well done Borgas, I think it was a well timed 100.

South Australia are absolutely cruising at 3-335. Borgas is 135*, Lehmann 68*.

Spot on chaps...best timing of all for Borgas because other than his 3 hour stay with Lehmann the other week when Boof made his 301*, his form has been quite shite.

Kudos to the selectors for leaving him in there and giving him a chance to prove himself...

Latest score, shaping nicely...let's hope we can maintain it and post a big first innings score:

Sheesh Boof has done well...he snuck up to 104 in a BIG hurry...Borgas OUT* for 140...great innings.

Only 60 odd to get 1st innings points...I HOPE we don't crash now but Fergie hit some good form in the ING game on the weekend...still have some decent batsmen to come...Manou and Dizzy...

Hope we get there.

PS - if we get 1st innings points before tea and set lead of 100...I'm confident we can bowl them out for fluff all and chase an outright tomorrow...

SA now 5/382...ah shit...Boof just got out...his last 50 in 37 balls so he's obviously trying to get the first innings points quickly, set a lead and then get them in for our bowlers to attempt to skittle em...

Boof has now scored approx. 800 runs for the domestic pura cup season...quite outstanding...

Innings stabilising...at least get 1st innings points then crash...but to set them 100 would be awesome...28 more runs to get the 1st innings points.

Hooray...1st innings points won and we're now opening our arms a bit here...

Think we'll aim to get 100-150 up by tea, or slightly after, declare and then have a crack at em...

An outright is VERY possible with Rofe, Dizzy and Cullen all bowling well at present.
