NZ 4/53 Taylor & Fleming out to skied drives to Hussey off Clark. Lee took the first 2 wickets for the Aussies.

Who said Clark isn't effective in one-day games? :)

Lee, Bracken, McGrath and Clark have been beating the outside edge repeatedly. I bet NZ wished Bond was available.

McMillan, clear nick given not out. The umps don't seem very good at judging clear nicks these days. 4/59

It's all hapening with McMillan. Nicks one, given not out. Then a close LBW, then he skips down the wicket and smacks one over the mid on boundary. Not really sure what he's trying to do, but at least he's still out there. 4/68.

AH see what Ive been talking about now about umpires + how than can ruin careers
MCvILLAN caught behind NZ 5/69 another MCvillan failure and guess what
He makes a swashbuckling 89 and SAVES his International career.
And then gets out to a CHEST height full toss which was not out !!!! [+a front foot no ball ?]
MCvILLAN is the NZ version of COSGROVE :!:

Poor Brendan McCULLUM last tour here he was given out controversially on 3 occasions.
The NZ keeper must have stepped on a Black Cat on that tour
Today he copped it again LBW to a ball clearly pitched outside off stump[Strauss your not alone]

NZ 218 recovery as they invariably do with thier late order.
The worlds premier TEST quick bowler Clark took 4/54
The worlds best o/d bowler LEE 2/43
Mcgrath 3 for is a champ in any form of the game.

NZ are playing with nearly 1/2 a team how come ?
Where are
STYRIS
VINCENT
ORAM
BOND
MILLS

Is BOND injured again ?[must be his first name ala Australian cripple]
And the rest ??????????????????????????????????????????????????????

AU will win easy MASON/FRANKLIN/GILLESPIE are just honest bowlers .

I've never argued that point. I just accept the umpires' decisions and move on. Everyone who has ever played cricket has copped a few bad ones, and we've also got a few in our favour. We know that going in, so it's pointless worrying about it.

McMillan got a beauty today early on, and he's gone on to make possibly a career saving knock. Good luck to him, that's the luck of the game.

Aussies 2/6 Both openers gone. Could be the Kiwis' night.

Classic Ponting dismissal early in his innings, half a step forward hit just above the knee roll and plumb in front had the finger up just quick as MT79

Replays show PONTINGS decision was too high.
AU 8/224
CLARK 75 + man of the match
SIR MICHEAL HUSSEY 65* hits a zac to win the game.

Man of the match could nearly have gone to Stephen FLEMING for
his expert handling of his pop gun attack.
Let down by his batsmen
Let down by his fielders
No name attack
And they nearly win it.
Only Sir Michael stopped him in the end.

Sir Michael is now nosing out Sir KP as the premier middle order batsman in the universe.
He is averaging close to a phenominal 80 at a strike rate of about 90.

Sadly have we seen the end of Nathan ASTLE ?
At 35 he is struggling.

When will FLEMING make runs, where are those booming straight hit
drives he used to play.
He can improve but needs to
Also 33 now

NZ when ORAM/BOND/STYRIS are all playing will improve even more.

I hope Phillips/Nobes/Lehmann/Manou watched FLEMINGS captaincy and learnt.

There's no doubt that Fleming is one of the best captains going around. He does a great job with the limited talent NZ has.
