Bored watching the Beach Cricket yesterday and decided to select my fave team of all time.

Doesn't have to be the one to beat the pants off the opposition. Your selection can be based on any criteria.

I picked mine from the players who inspired me, made me laugh or just played good cricket. The 11 plus four squad members were picked from around 1985 to now, as 85 is really the first time I can remember becoming aware of the players as individuals, rather than just blokes in whites.

Here goes:

M. Hayden
D. Boon
A. Border
S. Waugh
M. Hussey
A. Gilchrist
I. Healy
S. Warne
C. McDermott
G. McGrath
M. Hughes

Remaining squad members: B. Reid, M. Waugh, G. Matthews, D.Jones.

On dogwatcher's criteria:-

Bruce Laird (tough as they come)
Wayne Phillips (loved his flamboyant strokeplay)
Ian Chappell - Capt (Typical Aussie cricketer..hard but fair, aggressive thinker, backed his players to the hilt and enjoyed a beer!)
Mark Waugh ( My favourite..most gifted cricketer I have ever seen)
Kim Hughes (hotheaded but was an exciting strokeplayer)
Greg Ritchie (lazy but brilliant at times..played to enjoy the game)
Tim Zoehrer (Uncouth and sometimes stupid but was a superb gloveman)
Murray Bennett (just for the sunnies)
Dennis Lillee (lionhearted performer..loved his country)
Craig McDermott (Had pace and agression...his ginger mullet circa 1988 was a classic too)
Bruce Reid (defied the trend through his skinny physique to be an excellent fast bowler)

12th - Andrew Symonds (strong, tough and no-nonsense...sensational fielder)
