This is year one.....

I think this is going to take off....

There may be Beach Cricket arenas in each state....?

The nostalgia of it all.......

To see Viv caught Marsh bowled Lillee.......

To see 7,8,9 slips on Beach cricket.....

What are your thoughts Guys.......?

Mrs_Dog_ger says its a No No....

I agree Ding - just looked like ones and sixes. Nothing else. Little for the bowlers and no reason to be out there as a fielder.

Although - maybe we will see less promotional games in the future as the game develops. Meaning we won't be watching 'has beens' (as good or great as they all were) rather younger, more agile flexible players who've developed the game and new techniques for the different environment in which matches are played, similar to what's happened with beach soccer.

However, what's next Greg Champion leading a team of Australians in a backyard cricket tournament?

I gotta admit, I would've loved to have been there to collect some autographs, would've been huge.

If it's ever played down Christies, they'd better watch out for broken echoes & used picks dropped by junkies!
Or at O'Sully's there's always the risk of diving for a catch & landing on a chokito bar left by a dog!

Yeah, wasn't the most exciting to watch on telly, esp with that nit-wit who also on the Fifth-Quarter.

Might be different if you were actually there. Probably more chance of seeing a bit of bikini talent than on the golf course.

Got to admit I wouldn't listen too much to their opinions on it - ABC staff across all forums love to sanctimoniously bag anything new or commercial that they're not involved in. It seems it gives them an enormous sense of well being.

I didn't hear ABC's view on beach cricket. However, I would think if they don't like something, they have a perfect right to express those views, just as we do on this forum, and just as every other radio station does, commercial or otherwise.
