SA 1/24 from 5 overs. Elliott gone for 10.

VI 7/251
HODGE 88
MOSS 60
WHITE 1

Good effort by SA to restrict VI to 251 after the VI dominated early.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Given a ordinary bowling attack to work with captain LEHMANN did a
splendid job rotating his attack.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bowling GILLESPIE out for a 10 over spell 0/20 was very clever
GILLESPIE had his most economical return in domestic o/d games
LEHMANNS use of bowling COSGROVE at the death worked as well.
COSGROVE was called a wide today[nothing personal]

SA 1/27 OFF 6 OVERS

ELLIOTT the premier o/d batsmen failed for 10
really 2/27 BORGAS has a dislocated shoulder
We need COSGROVE to fire, the selectors are 'fed' up[and so has Cosi]

Vi still slight favs.

You're amazing. Quick to criticise a player with 219 Test wickets, and yet so defensive of someone who is probably not even going to get there, or will do little when he does.

SA 1/45 from 10 overs. Cosgrove 27 from 23 balls including 5 4s.

SA 2/81
COSGROVE OUT 41[42]
White bowled Hussey before himself and gets a wicket.

AH White is performing, Lee is not performing, I am merely
stating the obvious.
When Lee has a good series I will sing his praises.
His record v England in the last 2 series is piss poor.

SA 4/141 OF 34 OVERS
HARRIS 47[83] another good dig
BOOF 21*[37]
MANOU 8*[13]
WHITE 4 OVERS 1/14

SA were travelling well until WHITE got the danger man HARIS out for 47
WHITE has had 2 LBW appeals turned down against LEHMANN

LEHMANN needs support to win this , VI still hot favs.

VI 7/251
SA 6/222
LEHMANN 77*[89]with a wrist injury, what a champ[+ well captained tonight]
WHITE 10 OVERS 2/37 should have got at least 2 more wickets LBW.

AH you continue to rubbish a 23 year old cricketer
You had your orgasm when he was out for 1.
Then I had my multiple orgasms

He is a very good bowler 2/37 tonight
A great fieldsman IN THE TOP 5 AUSTRALIAN FIELDSMAN in any position
He is the BEST domestic captain in Australia after tonights exhibition.

He is without a shadow of doubt in the first 12 in the tri nations EG/NZ/AU series
He is good enough on his domestic form and must be picked.
If he does not succeed in International cricket sobiet

Shane WARNE has said the best player of spin he has bowled to is LEHMANN
Cameron WHITE bowled a magnificent spell to him tonight, means something ?

Went today with Giffo (& Ian Jnr & Giffo Jnr)

SA were cruising with 1 wicket down, then....... it all went pear shaped.

WTF were they thinking, after Cosgrove & Harris got out it looked like no one even considered keeping a eye on the run rate, both of them made starts, but fell short of 50's, they could have buried the Vics.

Elliott has to go, how long can they try and carry him for, FFS it's the Adelaide oval, a batsmans paradise, he should be making bucket loads of runs.

The last 10-15 overs were a disgrace, Lehmann dawdled his way to 50 (looked like he was setting himself for a long stay at the crease in a 4 day game) before he finally added 20ish in the last 2 overs when he recieved some gift bowling when the match was well and truely over.

It's time heads rolled, they need to take some of the critisism on board and win games, but when your bowlers don't look like taking wickets, and the batsman don't look like making runs, winning games doesn't look too likely either.

Tonights "effort" by the Redbacks was a disgrace, pathetic, laughable, and downright unacceptable. Boofs batting might look good on paper, but went a long way to costing us the match. Dizzy bowled like a champion, then came out to bat when we needed runs and left/defended for a few overs. Manou and Elliott should never play for the state again, Ferguson can go back to district cricket, and Cosgrove is very close to joining him. R Harris showed that one good hit doesn't make you a star.

From tonights match, the only players who should play next match are Boof, Dizzy, D Harris, R Harris, Cosgrove and Cullen. The others can have the rest of the season off.

The Redbacks are fast becoming an embarrassment to the state.

This is not a great post by our Magpie friend. Victoria are in redhot form and compared with NSW's 'efforts' the Redbacks weren't all that bad. Listen to what Lehmann said 'the Victorians didn't give us any width and gave us nothing to hit'. The backs were a batsman short and Boof looked hurt as well to me. And there's not much point in having a crack at Dizzy for his batting, he's there to take wickets. As has been pointed out many times on this site, there is not a lot of depth in SA Grade Cricket so where are the required replacements going to come from?

And the batsmen are batting like they know there is no depth in SA Grade Cricket. Wasn't having too much of a crack at Dizzy, but Boof saying there wasn't too much to hit is laughable. Can't hit it too far if all you to is little late cuts and paddles around the corner off the spinners. Funny how he started scoring more runs when he started swinging the bat and hitting through the line of the ball in the last couple of overs.

Anyone who was at the game saw they we didn't even look like trying to get the runs on the last 20 or so overs. Losing Borgas didn't help, but with his performances in one dayers this year hes lucky to even be in the team (ave of 17).

Darrens team for next one day match:
J Borgas
D Harris
G Blewett
D Lehmann
M Cosgrove
S Deitz
M Cleary
R Harris
J Gillespie
D Cullen
S Tait/P Rofe (depending if Tait is available)

If Jason Borgas lives up to his grade comp form, this is a very strong line up, with depth in the bowling, and batting down to number 9. Cullen can hold up an end, and Tait and Rofe can swing the willow effectively at times.
