Do they still have Test status or has that been put on the back burner for now? Unfortunately things outside the cricketers control has stuffed up what once looked to be a promising future.

I'd like to see a shake up of how Test cricket is programmed. There should currently be 9 Test playing nations and every 4th year a Test World Cup. The WC could take place over a two month period with the top 8 teams. They should have a proper structured Test like competition for other nations playing 5 day first class cricket with the top team to take the 10th Test place after a 4 year cycle. From then on whoever finishes bottom (or doesn't win a required amount of matches) gets relegated and the top of the 2nd tier gets promoted.
