Security arrangements for the Gabba test match were an absolute joke...
No musical instruments
No Mexican waves
No beach balls
No cameras
No backpacks! (FFS)
No eskies
On the first day of the Test the huge Q's at the Gabba got all the way to the front gate only for them to be told they can't come in with their backpacks. Then you were supposed to line up (and pay five dollars) to put your bag in a cloak room. Then it's back to the end of the Q to get in the gate again. Absolute bullshit that is.
Having said all that though, the Gabba is a brilliant venue to watch Cricket at, although every Cricket ground MUST have a hill in my view. Fight for your hill you South Australians.

REB

So how do you carry the sangers and water bottles REB? Do they allow a plastic coles bag full of tucker? Not looking forward to paying inflated prices for food AND beer next Friday.
Agree regarding the hill. Can't let that disappear.

I think there has to be a limit on the musical instruments. I don't mind people who can actually play the trumpet to give it a blast from time to time, but I absolutely loathe these people with no musical ability whatsoever who just blast farting noises from the trumpet ad nauseam for the entire day.
There is nothing wrong with the activities listed above, but there are always a minority of idiots who abuse it, and that is why we have restrictions. The idiot minority always spoil it for the majority.

well the backpack rule is an absolutely required security operation, without it the overpriced kiosks cannot be secure in selling twice as many drinks and food.

The QLD police are a joke though, they told us to shutup for chanting United @ Suncorp a couple weeks ago, even though there was only like 5 of us, they said people may find it offensive, all the Roaar supporters told the cop to piss off and let us sing.
this is all while we can hear the Qld supporters group clear as singing songs that involved swearing, not that we cared, but its pretty shite on the part of the QLD Police.
