Had to happen. He has had plenty of chances. Sure his glovework is good but his batting has been woeful lately. Allows us to strengthen the batting line up and that is desperately needed.

not really as they would then drop him for the next state game and by doing it now he is available for the jets this weekend therefore giving him more opportunities to recapture his form

Don't know if you can read anything into this Haddin is not playing for NSW so state teams often 'drop" experienced players to play against touring teams, FFS the last time we played against England we played Arnold and crook, They never played again.
