WI 6/234... Morton 90 not out... Lara 71
AU 9/224...Gilchrist 92...Taylor 4/49 including HAT TRICK

WI at 4/63 were seemingly out of this contest until an enthralling 137 partnership
between Morton 90 not out[man of the match] and Lara 71 put the WI in the contest.
The 6/234 usually cannon fodder for the Aussies was always going to be a very
competitive score to chase batting second.
PROFFESOR ROOSTER had predicted in the gambling room how the sides batting second
were in trouble, his prophercy vindicated as the WI won by 10 runs.
AU were cruising at 4/182 when Gilchrist was run out for 92
At 6/213 they needed 22 of 15 balls and were still in the box seat until WI unleased
hurricane Jerome Taylor who took a hat trick and inspired the windies to victory.
If only AU had Cam Borgas to finish the WI off

MALS SUMMARY
----------------

These substandard sub continent cow paddocks are not allowing the superior teams
like AU to show thier best form. Sure both teams have to play on them but....
How can WI go into a game with 2 frontline bowlers and restrict the allmighty AU
batting line up to a meagre 9/224 in 50 overs.
To see Gayle, Samuels and co restricting the Aussies was ridicolous.
One ball Samuels bowled to Clarke rared of a good length and nearly decapitated
both the batsman and the keepers heads, and he is a part time spinner!
To see Samuels with a bat pad in a 50 over game.....
When he bowls on a good track he normally has the batsmen in 2 minds[ 4 or 6.]
Bullshit oval bullshit result, the Australians will now know how Grant Thomas feels.

GAYLE V CLARKE
-------------------

What happened at about 4/162 ? the normally super cool placid Gayle went of his
coconut tree and followed Clarke for about a minute and chatted in his face and then
brushed him body to body.
Gayle continued to chat to Clarke for the next hour relentlessly, including finger pointing.
Gayle fielded a ball of his own bowling and threw the ball at Clark, over his head, over
the keeper for 4 overthrows[Im hoping it was not at Clarke]
Samuels also had a verbal with Clarke as well.

Well done WI picking yourselves of the canvas twice to win.
Meanwhile Gilly's best opening partner is playing at the SCG at the moment.

There was nothing wrong with the track in last night's game. We just batted poorly.

Excellent wrap up there Mal!

I agree, the pitches are complete carp. Obviously the curator can only work with what he has got, but surely they can do better.

India should be dead-set favourites to take the Trophy out now, especially after this. Windies are also a chance to go back-to-back.

This pitch was a little bit better than usual REB but still below standard.
A lot of runs were scored behind the wicket, and a lot square, there was little
driving in front of the wicket.
Gilchrist scored a lot of boundarys to a fine 3rd man of edges.

We scored 9/224 against an attack that has been conceding many scores of 275/300
in o/d internationals.

Even PUNK ROOSTER who knows nothing about cricket has stumbled upon how hard
it is for sides chasing in tthis tournament.

It was like us playing on a hard wicket and then playing on a dodgey turf pitch.
