Netherlands batting first

Not doing a bad job at 3/87 at the half way mark of their innings

If the Netherlands get up, it would make it tough for the Pakistanis to go through if they boycott the India game?

Netherlands fell in a huge hole and lost 6/20 to be all out 147

Think Pakistan will cruise to victory here 1/27 in the 3rd

Huge over should see them over the line

3 x 6's in 5 balls plus a 4

5 required off the last over

That dropped catch would be taken at D grade pub cricket.
Disgraceful that someone in a World Cup would drop that
Bloke then hits 16 off the rest of the over and it’s done and dusted

Why? Keep in mind in 2023 they won the rights to televise all ICC events until the end of 2027 https://www.cricket.com.au/news/3807634 ... ip-2024-27

Like most things now if you want to watch it you pay, it's the way sport (and the world) is becoming.

Why?

Cos if you want to follow a sport, having it on more than one platform is limiting to Joe Public. Already, to follow cricket in general, you really have to have Foxtel/Kayo, so adding another platform is just another cost that people can't necessarily afford. For those not bolted on to cricket, it makes it difficult to justify.

The ICC obviously don't care if their tournaments are on a different streaming service to who broadcasts Australian matches here and unfortunately it's the way it is now and is going to be, it's all about the $$$ when it comes to broadcast rights.

Beardman now has stress fractures in his back and will miss the rest of the domestic season.
Played the first T20 against Pakistan and then complained of back soreness

A focus on maximising commercial value may lead to more money in the short-term, but it's very questionable over the long term. E.g. there is consensus that cricket disappearing from FTA TV in England over the last 15 years or so has not been a good move. To their credit, the cricket authorities in Australia have been more resistant to the privatisation of the game, and appear to place some value in maximising eyeballs on cricket.

What! You mean the ICC might be worried about money? No! This is the problem with the AFL. The boffins at the top couldn't give a stuff if I have to pay for 3 services to watch my team. No one has the punter at the forefront of their mind when going into negotiations with these organisations. If they do (AFL) then I'll find something else to watch. Same as cricket, where I can't really be bothered watching T20. If the games are on FTA or Fox, I might stumble across them but if I have to pay another streaming service, then myah - not doing it.

The problem with this on a global level is if I don't subscribe and many others don't either, what's it doing to the sport at a junior or local level?
