On the back of Trav Heads innings yesterday i was thinking how lucky people in the West have been over the years seeing similar innings like that in Test cricket

I'm sure has happened at other grounds as well but from my memory from games in Perfth which is fading fast, i remember the following

December 1974 Doug Walters Vs England 103 in a session, hit Bob Willis out of the ground of the last ball of the day to reach 100

December 1975 Roy Fredricks from the West Indies made 169 against Lillee and Thomson, 100 come up in 71 balls

December 2006 Adam Gilchrist, epic innings against England scoring his 100 off 57 balls

November 2025. Travis Head, 123, getting his 100 off 69 balls

Obviously, the opposition was poor but Matty Haydens 380 against Zimbabwe.

I was in Antigua in 1999 when Brian Lara brought up his 100 off 82 balls, the last 70 of those runs coming off 27 balls. When he raised his bat, the West Indies were 2/116.

I was only two months old for Dougies milestone, I remember driving my parents home from the pub that day.
