Not that it helps having a lack of cricket but in fairness to Sydney despite the rain it does have a history of great day 5 last session finishes. Thinking last years Ashes, the last test against India, the Michael Clarke test, SAF 1993/94 test.

Probably helps that is the fifth test and most times series are decided so declarations are a little bit more generous than usual.

This test has 3 slow bowlers and 1 spinner.

I actually mind Harmer seen a fair bit of him in the county championships and his pretty decent alot better than Maharaj.

It's time for Sydney to lose its test match

I know you are taking the pi55 here...

Weather aside, I enjoy the Sydneys tests. Bucket list thing to go one year. It will be great if they can get the deck back to a raging turner. Drop in wickets make it virtually impossible to provide the characteristics of yester-year. Is Sydney a drop in now days?

I don’t think it is, and judging by the paddock a few pitches across I’m more confident that it isn’t.

Yep I noticed that too, although I don't recall the centre square being a muddy heap during footy season which makes me think it is a drop in.

In the good old days - Perth quick & bouncy; Melbourne dead/slow; Adelaide featherbed; Sydney dust bowl; Brisbane seam a bit but consistent bounce.

Is Sydney the only ground not to use drop in pitches?

Gabba also. Despite numerous attempts by the AFL to change both they have resisted so far.

Probz keep it covered during the week when it pisses down and traffic management to not churn it up.

Yeah, was great when pitches/grounds had unique traits/personalities.

Apparently takes a shed load of wickets in county cricket…. Which if true is a poor reflection on the standard there.

He just doesn’t look like a test cricketer, I do think he has more ability then his counterpart who has gone wicketless this series while conceding 230 runs

Could get to 350 and do an aggressive declaration

The spud will bowl Aus to victory

I was thinking 400, 45 minutes into the 3rd session, that’s if light and rain will see out a full day
