The 2022/23 Sheffield Shield and One Day Cup fixtures have been released.
https://www.cricket.com.au/news/sheffie ... 2022-06-29
The Marsh Sheffield Shield will return to a full 10-round home-and-away season after states each played a varying number of matches last summer due to COVID lockdowns and border restrictions.

Each state will also play seven Marsh One-Day Cup games before the final on March 8, while the Women's National Cricket League (WNCL) has been expanded to a full home-and-away season, with the 43-game fixture to run from late September to late February.

The domestic season is scheduled to begin in less than three months with two Marsh Cup rounds between September 23 and October 1, while the WNCL will also get underway on September 23 with a triple-header.

Western Australia and NSW will kick off the Shield season at the WACA Ground from October 3-6, which will be followed by Queensland-Tasmania at Allan Border Field and South Australia-Victoria at Karen Rolton Oval from October 6-9.

There will be five full Shield rounds before the first Test meaning non-T20 players such as Nathan Lyon, Usman Khawaja, Marnus Labuschagne, Travis Head, Alex Carey and Cameron Green could feature multiple times for their states ahead of the two-Test series against the West Indies and three Tests against South Africa.

The sixth Shield round before the mid-season Big Bash break will be played concurrently with the first Test of the summer from December 1-4.

That also signals that the KFC BBL season will start later this summer, mostly likely in mid-December after the conclusion of the Adelaide day-night Test against the West Indies from December 8-12.

This shits me, two home games, the ODD used to be a great afternoon/evening out, now here we are playing Tassie in Queensland? As per usual we get the raw end of the stick, Queensland in Queensland, WA twice and NSW in NSW on a postage stamp.

How about the 3 month break between fixtures in the limited overs?

No MCG No SCG for Shield? 3 games at AO? The shield is about developing Test players for our country.

The knobs at CA think it is about allowing enough time, money and everything else for the BBL so some third rate players can be paid more than our aspiring test players.

That was my next gripe, I was trying to keep my post to 50 words.

Hopefully the 21st game is a day/night fixture - might actually draw a crowd being a Friday,

Is it true that SACA we will have to pay $10 to get into a shield game at Adelaide oval? Is it the same for one dayers?

State cricket is returning to ticketed yes.
Members will be free but general public will need to pay I believe.

Seems very weird to charge when they get so few in anyway.

Bizarre.

So, who made that decision, SACA or SMA? Maybe, it's an attempt to deliver more value back to SACA members. i.e. they have free access to Sheffield Shield games at Adelaide oval ...... 3 games x 4 days x $10 per day = $120 of value. Nobody will buy that.

SACA. Every other point spot on. Especially the last given 12 days of a cricket is a pipedream.

Seems as though it's a SACA decision to align themselves with the other grounds who are currently ticketed?

In line with other major venues across Australia, Marsh Sheffield Shield and Marsh One-Day Cup fixtures at Adelaide Oval will be ticketed to the public this summer.

SACA Members will retain access as a benefit of membership, in addition to guest passes for every day of the Shield and One-Day Cup as in previous years. All West End Redbacks and SA Scorpions fixtures at Karen Rolton Oval will remain free to attend.

Tickets for each day of play will be $10 for adults and free for children under the age of 18.

SACA CEO Charlie Hodgson is looking forward to a strong summer of cricket in South Australia:

“Sheffield Shield and the One-Day Cup are elite competitions with a rich history of quality cricket highlighted by international stars such as Travis Head and Alex Carey and the unearthing of the next generation of Australian cricketers.

“Playing at one of the most beautiful venues in the world, our Redbacks are a youthful, exciting team with a bright future. Jason Gillespie and his coaching staff have quickly and confidently put their mark on the squad, and we expect continued improvement and plenty of memorable moments this summer.

“$10 for adults and free for children under 18 represents incredible value to watch some of the finest cricketers from around Australia ply their trade. SACA members will of course continue to receive access as part of their membership.”

The West End Redbacks first play at Adelaide Oval in a Sheffield Shield clash against Tasmania from 16 – 19 October, quickly followed by a One-Day Cup fixture on 21 October.

Reigning Shield champions Western Australia will also make the journey to South Australia this summer for both formats, as will Queensland, the 2020/21 title holders.

There will be zero people paying entry to a shield game, people who used to spend a couple of hours watching a session will now not bother if they are a non-member. Good job saca

What is this going to earn the SACA? $2K for the season? Odd.

:-H :-H

I do, I would often go down for a couple of hours when I have time. Probably won’t stop me from going but they now will have to pay wages for someone on the gate. Defeats the purpose

Why pay $10 to watch the Shitbacks play in shield game at adelaide oval when it is free to watch it via Cricket Australia website.

This decision is so wrong.
