Tasmania second innings 2/117

Aussie watch-
Runs for Labuschagne, Head and Wade in this round, Harris, Pucovski and even Bancroft possibly putting some pressure on Joe Burns for the second opening spot in the test team.
Starc with a 4 fa, Cameron Green is back bowling for WA, Mitch Swepson with 5 wicket haul in both NSW innings.
Nothing of note from Burns, Neser and Lyon (not that its of much concern about Gaz though)

You forgot Shaun Marsh.......350 runs at 88

I really hope he is picked again, the entertainment on social media will be priceless.

Or his dopey brother.
He playing or injured again?

Injured his ankle playing IPL.

Changes for upcoming match v QLD? Can't see Davis and/or Ferguson surviving. Who comes in - Bosisto, Lehmann? Can't think of any others.

Whilst Davis doesn’t look up to the level, I would like to see them persist with him for an extended time. Plenty of players get long runs at it, and too often in SA we cut guys after a couple of failures.

Maybe he’d play better if he knew he wasn’t playing for his career every time he went out.

Every time he goes out to bat he us playing for his career.
All first class cricketers have to manage that thought process.
Its what makes them test players, learning to cope with the pressure.

Fergie done in shield cricket after this round.

Been a knocker of his at times but he's been a reliable performer most of his career throughout a predictably awful period for the red-backs.
If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation.

True, but some players get extended opportunities in sides because they have potential - in SA we seem really quick to chop and chop the fringe players.

Fair enough to get a farewell match too, had a great career. Still going to play white ball cricket where he still dominates.

Ferguson was solid but reflective of where SA cricket has been the last 15 years.

No way should a bloke averaging 36 in his career manage close to 150 first class games and be an out and out regular for most of their career.

Sadly SA has had no one really better.

I wonder what the team average is for his career? His 1st vs 2nd innings averages would be interesting too.

Harsh. Think Ferguson was better than he's given credit for - particularly through the early/mid part of his career. Injuries and an inconsistent state side played huge part.

He's dropped away in recent years

He hasn't made a first innings ton for the red-backs since his test match in 2016...... amazing stat

I kind of agree we over hyped him in 4 day cricket, in other states he is just a solid citizen.... but in the 50 over game he was a fantastic player, who should have played more for Aus IMO.

He should've played more tests when he was in his prime, unluckily ran out in the first dig, scored bugger in amidst a batting collapse in the second dig.

I think he has improved tenfold in his short game, he was a bit of a plodder when he was representing Australia and there were bigger hitters and quicker run scorers getting about at the same time, he was too Smith-like.

Jake Lehmann added to Hub squad, replacing Brad Davis.

Would think Bosisto still replaces Davis in the team though.

I meant in scoring rate, not talent wise.

He went at a strike rate of 85 in the ODI's and averaged over 40 and frankly was in the side when others were very inconsistent.

A lot of games he accelerated his S/R and games where he was slow generally were when he saved the Aussie innings - like South Africa ODI at Centurion when he scored 50 at 6 whilst the 5 above combined for 18.

Ferguson was building himself in the Bevan mould before injury.

Get around him.
