Can they even field a side :)

And Jadeja out as well as Vihari in doubt.

So India are missing : Kohli, Shami, Yadav, Sharma, Kumar, Rahul and now Bumrah, Jadeja and Vihari.

That's the equivalent of Australia having the following players missing .... Smith, Cummins, Hazlewood, Starc, Pattinson, Wade, Head and Green. I'm not sure we would beat anyone if they were missing. It's disappointing that both sides won't be anywhere near full strength because it's been a cracking series and we deserve a big finale.

Far from it, remember when Kohli actually went to his home crowd and asked them not to boo Smith? Class.

And we all remember Gavaskar's behaviour when he was given out at the MCG in the summer of 80/81...

I saw the scratching smith video this morning.
Really didn't like the look of it.
Sure, stand and shadow bat, but to rub someone's batting marks out like he did just smacks of petulance.

Certainly not captaincy standard of behaviour.

Nah, poor call by you.

In the full video Pant walks up after the drinks break and checks off, middle and leg stumps, all 3 bang on straight away.

Smith's actions didn't impact the marks at all.

Kohli is all class, and won me over immediately. Hard but fair, what we demand, with a wee bit of talent to go with it.

Anyone who thinks Kohli is a dick has no idea....

Why does he do any of the multitude of other weird things he does.
Shadow batting at home, twitching constantly, adjusting everything before each ball, etc.

I suspect a lot of it is a force of habit more than a conscious decision.

I wouldn't have scratched around the area where the batsman sets up, but to suggest its petulance and 'not captaincy behaviour' is implying there was malice in his actions, which I disagree with.

Everyone knows you don’t touch the wicket IF you’re not batting.
Smith is either a cheat or a dumb prick!

I suspect the latter.

Again shadow batting is one thing but in my opinion he was being a petulant wanker.
What other reason would he have to do it other than making the batter take guard again.
Sorry his quirky nature is no excuse for this shit.

Yep simply no reason to do it while you are fielding, shadow bat on the pitch next door if you have to.

Like a batsman picking up the ball it's not your go right now mate, you'll get your turn.

Absolutely, throw in the fact it was the last innings of the match so he wasn't he going to be batting on there again.

It smacks of arrogance.
Stay off the pitch at all times where possible when fielding.
Pretty simple.

I don't find it as much arrogance as I find the Australian team really struggles under the pressure of not getting their desired result. If we have India 6/100 does he do that....personally I don't think so.

Like many im not as comfortable he has learnt the lessons from the suspension that I would have had hoped he did. This coming from arguably Steve Smith's biggest fan boy as per mine and west coast panthers epic battles many years ago.
