This seems to be all the talk last couple days - like Warner is going to be the magic remedy for our woes.. i'm concerned too much emphasis/weight/expectation is being placed on Warner.

He hasnt faced a red ball in anger for a while, he didnt play and Shield cricket did he?

I agree but I think its all we have, along with Smith to start performing. Keeping in mind the opposition I believe Wade, Green, Head, Paine are all playing at their best level. As it stands right this minute I don't think any of them have the ability to consistently hit big scores against the worlds best bowling attack. I mean Head is just as likely to start getting scores under 10 as he is to turning those 30's into half centuries.

Labuschagne is performing consistently and is just as likely to hit a form slump as he is to making a big score.

The way Warner plays, both hard running with the pads on and his outfielding, he'd have to make an amazing recovery to get in next test.
Like I posted before Pukovski shouldn't be exposed to a test bowling line up until he learns to duck and weave.
He may be like McCartin from the saints, the slightest head knock floors him.
It would be criminal to chuck him in at the deep end.
So I think we'll be unchanged.

NSW health officials have said people could be more covid safe at the SCG than in their own homes.

Because without NSW there wouldn’t have even been a series. Guess they are repaying the favour similar to the AFL did with QLD.
South Africa are in the middle of a far worse outbreak and the series with SL is going ahead and so far no incident. Sports all around the world are being played in the midst of outbreaks

One BIG difference redlegJim
Sports are being played amidst BIG outbreaks in most parts of the world
In Australian we have had occasional clusters

People catching COVID at other countries sporting venues adds to an existing problem
People potentially catching it at the SCG is creating a problem

In any case , some of the Australian fieldsman should be safe , they are not catching much of late

The issue isnt playing in Sydney, its being able to freely move to Queensland for the 4th Test.
Worst case scenario the 4th Test will be played in Sydney as well or perhaps they will look after the Parliamentarian Capital.

Look out if India win the 3rd Test and theres a couple fresh cases around, they'll take their bat and ball and go home before the 4th Test

Burns could have the last laugh here.... in about 10 days time he might be the only player without the ‘rona.

Pretty sure it’s just a hand warmer being taken out of his pocket and given to the fielder to hold onto
