Chappelli's Bio

Whilst he can be a bit of a "dill" at times, I reckon Chappelli's nouse is top notch and he calls things as he see's them, so I'd be interested to hear the thoughts of anyone who may have read his recently released Bio.

Yes, have the book Constance and his anecdotes, views and stories are excellent. Espescially like his story about former Victorian 'keeper Ray "slug" Jordon.
Didn't realise that he didn't get on with Bradman at all and he says that his view was not influenced by his Grandfather's (Victor Richardson) dislike of him as he said to Ian that he would let him make up his own mind about him.
Must admit to not agreeing with his views in the non cricket related chapter one iota.

One of my favourite players of the 70's and has a good insight into the game but he does himself no favours dissing the Don. Many of Chappell's beefs are quite legitimate in regards to the conditions the players played under during his time but to still be talking negatively about Bradman four years after his death just diminishes I Chappell in my view.

One thing for sure about Chappelli, he was a players man through and through and the current generation of stars owe him plenty.

Chappeli calls a spade a spade, which is an outstanding quality to have. Just because the Don is dead doesn't make him untouchable (let's not confuse cricketing ability/accomplishments with his ability to foster relationships and run cricket well). If nothing was said until after he died then that is a different matter but Chappelli was as outspoken before the Don passed away.

This is true smac, which is why he doesn't need to keep on about him. I wouldn't say that Sir Donald was the worst administrator either, perhaps he just stayed involved in the game at board level a little too long perhaps.

Agreed, but people keep asking and it's in his nature to answer in full. Media looking for a headline every 6 months can't help but ask him all over again.

Perhaps putting it in his book was a bit too much, I can't find a defence for that one!
