RIP Maxy. Was lucky enough to see him speak a couple of times, a very highly respected architect. Something I never knew was in his repertoire,
They'll all be in Tangles somewhere.

Met him a few times in the 90's, was a funny bugger.
This truly makes me sad

A great raconteur, a sad loss. Farewell Mr Walker.
I can remember fondly playing "Max Walker's Cricket Game" as a kid, got it as a birthday present Christmas 1984. A more cerebral cricket simulation than games like "Test Match" played with dice, a traditional score-book, and ratings for batsmen and bowlers. Not sure it was super successful, but it was different.

I read all his books growing up
How to Hypnotise chooks
Kiss a Crocodile
Puzzle a Python
How to tame a Lion
Had them all in hard back

Yeah I got it as a Chrissy present in either 83 or 84 too. Spent many happy hours playing with it on my own and was probably a big part in developing my maths. Wasn't a great two-player game as it was there was little for the bowler to do when the best batsmen were in. Actually came up with my own footy dice game because of it!!
Staggered by this as didn't even know he was crook. One of the good guys.

Big Max was a whole hearted Cricketer who kept chugging in. Not afraid to face up to the fast stuff either as evidenced when Dennis Lillee gave him a hard time at a Shield Match at the WACA. No love lost in the Shield in those days.
RIP Maxy and thanks for the memories.
regards,
REB
